1 Pedro 1:1
Pedro apóstol de Jesucristo, a los peregrinos de la dispersión en Ponto, Galacia, Capadocia, Asia y Bitinia.

Comentario
Los judíos cristianos se convirtieron en peregrinos en dos sentidos; fueron peregrinos por la dispersión y por el hecho de que este mundo ya no era más su hogar. Cuando estudiamos el antiguo testamento, vemos que Abram fue llamado a dejar su familia, ciudad y cultura. En el nuevo testamento vemos que Dios dispersó a los cristianos judíos. La razón para esto fue que Dios queria que fueran testigos en Judea, Samaria y hasta la mas recóndito de la tierra. A menudo tenemos la tendencia a buscar nuestra seguridad en lo que nos rodea, amigos, familia y todo lo que no sea ajeno a nosotros. Dios quiere que seamos retados de tiempo en tiempo. Quiere que dependamos de El y solo de El.

Aplicación
Dios muchas veces usa trastornos, problemas y circunstancias para recordarnos que este mundo ya no es mas nuestra casa. En la misma forma que Dios llamó a Abram, el nos llama a salir de nuestra vieja manera de vivir. Dios nos esta llamando a una relación mas profunda con El. Al mismo tiempo nos llama a una misión. Ya no nos pertenecemos. Hemos sido comprados por precio. ¿Que es lo que Dios nos esta llamando a dejar el día de hoy, Cual es el llamado de Dios para ti? No mires las interrupciones o cambio de planes como un retraso; date cuenta que Dios esta trabajando en tu vida. Confía en El mientras te este moviendo de un lugar a otro, de esta forma te estará mostrando que este mundo ya no es mas tu hogar.

Commentary
The Jewish Christians had become pilgrims in two senses of the word. They were pilgrims due to the dispersion and due to the fact that this world was no longer their home. As we study the Old Testament we see that God called Abram to leave his family, his city and his culture. In the New Testament we see that God dispersed the Christian Jews. The reason was that he wanted them to be witnesses in Judea, Samarian and to the uttermost parts of the world as well. We often attempt to find our security in our surroundings, our friends and everything that is familiar. God wants us to be challenged from time to time. He wants us to depend on Him and Him alone.

Application
God often uses disruptions, problems, circumstances to remind us that this world is not our home. In the same way that God called Abram, he is calling us out of our old way of life. He is calling us to a deeper relationship with Him. He is calling us on a mission as well. We are not our own. We have been bought with a price. What is God calling you to leave behind today? What is God calling you to? Don’t look at interruptions or a change of plans as being a set back. Realize that God will be working in your life. Trust Him as He moves you from one place to another and as He shows you that this world is not your home.
