Gente que trabaja en el barrio People that work in the Neighborhood

Acts 16:14
Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.[1]

It’s a great ministry. It’s a blessing. It’s an opportunity. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the people that have a ministry in the workplace. Here we read about Lydia. She was a businesswoman and she was a woman that worshipped the Lord without really knowing Him. God opened up her heart to believe as Paul taught. We know that Lydia continued in the faith because verse 40 says, “they went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.”[2]
If you are at work today, remember that your workplace is a great place to get to know people and minister to them. It may be that some of the business people are already seeking the Lord and just need someone to share the word of God with them. Let’s pray for the people in the church that work secular jobs. Working in the world is a great ministry. It’s a blessing and it’s an opportunity.

Entonces una mujer llamada Lidia, vendedora de púrpura, de la ciudad de Tiatira, que adoraba a Dios, estaba oyendo; y el Señor abrió el corazón de ella para que estuviese atenta a lo que Pablo decía.

Es un gran ministerio. Es una bendición. Es una oportunidad. ¿De que estoy hablando? Hablo de la gente que tiene un ministerio en el lugar de trabajo. Aquí leemos de una mujer llamada Lidia. Era una negociante y alababa a Dios sin conocerle. Dios abrió su corazón cuando Pablo le enseñó. Sabemos que Liria continuó en la fe porque versículo 40 dice, “Entonces, saliendo de la cárcel, entraron en casa de Lidia, y habiendo visto a los hermanos, los consolaron, y se fueron.”
Si estás en el trabajo hoy día, acuérdate que tu lugar de trabajo es un buen lugar para conocer y ministrar a la gente. Tal vez hay empresarios que conocerás que ya están buscando a Dios y solo necesitan que alguien les comparta la palabra de Dios. Vamos a orar por la gente en nuestra iglesia que trabaja en el mundo secular. Trabajar en el mundo es un gran ministerio. Es una bendición y es una oportunidad.
