¿Colaboradores con Dios? Laborers with God?

“Porque nosotros somos colaboradores de Dios.” 1 Corintios 3:9

Hay que tener mucho cuidado de perder la concentración en Dios por llevar a cabo una obra para él. Muchos obreros cristianos alaban su trabajo, pero lo único que debería preocuparles es la concentración en Dios. Esto significa que todas las otras áreas de la vida -la parte mental, moral y espiritual- estén libres, que tengan la libertad de un niño, de un niño que alaba, no de uno que se ha descarriado.

Un obrero que no tiene esta marca de la concentración en Dios tiende a llevar la obra en el cuello; no experimenta libertad en su cuerpo, en su mente ni en su espíritu, y en consecuencia, acaba agotado y aplastado. No tiene libertad ni deleite en la vida. Sus nervios, su mente y corazón andan cargados y aplastados, y la bendición de Dios no puede permanecer. Por el contrario, cuando la concentración está en Dios, todas las áreas de su vida se hallan en libertad y se someten espontáneamente a la voluntad de Dios.

La obra de Dios no es tu responsabilidad. Tu única responsabilidad es tener una constante relación con Dios y no permitir que haya algo que impida tu participación con él. La libertad que sucede a la santificación es la misma que posee un niño. Y entonces las cosas que antes nos mantenían cabizbajos desaparecen. Pero ten siempre presente algo: eres libre sólo para ser absolutamente fiel y devoto a Aquel que obra contigo.

No tenemos ningún derecho de juzgar en qué lugar debemos de estar ubicados ni de desarrollar ideas preconcebidas acerca de en qué seremos útiles a Dios. Él lo diseña todo. Dondequiera que Dios nos ponga y en cada obra en particular que nos encargue, nuestra meta debe ser ofrecerle un corazón completamente rendido a Él. “Todo lo que te viniere a la mano para hacer, hazlo según tus fuerzas.”

Beware of any work for God which enables you to evade concentration on Him. A great many Christian workers worship their work. The one concern of a worker should be concentration on God, and this will mean that all the other margins of life, mental, moral and spiritual, are free with the freedom of a child, a worshipping child, not a wayward child.

A worker without this solemn dominant note of concentration on God is apt to get his work on his neck; there is no margin of body, mind or spirit free, consequently he becomes spent out and crushed. There is no freedom, no delight in life; nerves, mind and heart are so crushingly burdened that God’s blessing cannot rest. But the other side is just as true - when once the concentration is on God, all the margins of life are free and under the dominance of God alone.

There is no responsibility on you for the work; the only responsibility you have is to keep in living constant touch with God, and to see that you allow nothing to hinder your co-operation with Him. The freedom after sanctification is the freedom of a child, the things that used to keep the life pinned down are gone. But be careful to remember that you are freed for one thing only - to be absolutely devoted to your co-Worker.

We have no right to judge where we should be put, or to have preconceived notions as to what God is fitting us for. God engineers everything; wherever He puts us our one great aim is to pour out a whole-hearted devotion to Him in that particular work. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.”
