Aod Ehud

“Entonces alargó Aod su mano izquierda, y tomó el puñal de su lado derecho, y se lo metió por el vientre…” Jueces 3:21

Él creció en un mundo que pensaba que ser zurdo significaba ser maldito, inmundo, o por lo menos diferente. Lo más que él intentaba usar la mano derecha, siempre terminaba usando la izquierda. Los niños se burlaban de él, él cuestionaba porque tenía que ser diferente. Pasando los años, logró aceptar el hecho que era peculiar. A veces se quedaba preguntando acerca del plan de Dios para su vida.

El día fatídico llegó. Él estaba planeando para es día hace tiempo. Él y sus compañeros tenían que entregar los tributos al rey de Moab quién era su enemigo. Ya sabían que los guardaespaldas y soldados del rey Eglón no sospecharían, ni buscarían un puñal en la cadera de su lado derecho porque todo el mundo lo sacaba del lado izquierdo hacia el lado derecho. Él quería usar esta verdad como ventaja. Siendo zurdo, él podría pasar por la guardia sin que nadie sepa que todavía tenía un arma pero tenía que confiar en Dios de todas maneras. Quería matar al rey malvado y comenzar a liberar a su pueblo. Por fin entendió porque era zurdo.

Aod fue uno de los primeros jueces que Dios levantó para apoyar a Su pueblo. Era zurdo. Tu puedes leer su historia en Jueces 3:12-30. Una lección de la historia es que muchas veces Dios utiliza a lo que consideramos un punto débil, o las cosas que nos hacen peculiares para Su gloria. Tal vez te encuentras en una situación muy diferente hoy día. No tengas miedo de ser diferente o pasar por una experiencia diferente. Someta todo lo que hay en tu vida a Dios. Espera en Él para ver lo que Dios hará contigo. Tal vez tienes una idea diferente. Quieres intentar algo para Dios que nadie, jamás ha hecho. Tal vez tienes un problema que aparentemente te incapacita. Servimos a un Dios muy creativo.


“Then Ehud reached with his left hand, took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly.” Judges 3:21

He grew up in a world where being left handed was considered being cursed, unclean or at least different. As much as he tried to use the right hand, he always ended up using that left one. The other kids teased him. He questioned why he had to be different. As the years went by he learned to accept the fact that he was different from most. At times he wondered about God’s plan for his life.

The fateful day arrived. He had been planning for this day for some time. He and his companions had to pay his peoples taxes to the king of Moab, king Eglon. They knew that the kings’ guards and soldiers would never suspect or even look for a dagger hidden on his right hip. Everyone drew their weapons from the left hip, pulling them out with a left to right motion. He would use the fact that he was different, left handed, to his advantage. He would trust God to help him kill the wicked king and begin to liberate his people. He finally understood why God had made him different. You can read his story in Judges 3:12-30.

One of the lessons of Ehud´s story is that God often takes what we consider to be our weak points or the things that make us different and uses these for His glory. Maybe you find yourself in a situation that you consider to be unique today. Don’t be scared to be different than others. Submit yourself to God and wait to see what He will do with you in His time. He will use the things that make you different for His glory. Maybe you have a different idea. You want to try something for God that no one else has ever done. Maybe you have a handicap or something else. We serve a very creative God.
