Las niñas de La Tinguiña con Luz. Luz es una chica de California que ha venido para apoyar al ministerio en Cañete por unas semanas. Solo hay niñas en la foto porque los varoncitos ya se hanbían ido.

The girls that live in La Tinguiña with Luz. Luz is a young lady from California that has come to help with the ministry in Cañete for a few weeks. There are only girls in the picture because the boys had already left.

Luz explicó las buenas nuevas con el apoyo de Kristel. Kristel es de Koinonia Cañete. Jimmy fue nuestro líder de Alabanza. Pudo viajar con nosotros desde Koinonia Surco porque tenía un día libre de su trabajo. Las dos iglesias de Koinonia están trabajando juntas para poder realizar este nuevo ministerio en Ica.

Luz explained the good news with Kristel's help. Kristel is from Koinonia Cañete. Jimmy was our worship leader. He was able to travel from Koinonia Surco with us because he had a day off from his job. The two Koinoina churches are working together to make this new ministry in Ica a reality.

Fuimos a Ica ayer porque estamos comenzando a ministrar a la gente. Ya tenemos unos amigos en Ica que han orado por una iglesia de Koinonia en su ciudad hace años. Oren por los van a estar viajando a Ica cada viernes y por los que van a escuchar la palabra de Dios. Queremos hacer discípulos allí.

Estamos haciendo un estudio bíblico breve en la calle. Es más que todo un alcance evangelístico. Ayer ministramos a los niños y tomamos unas fotos de los que se quedaron hasta el final. El barrio se llama La Tinguiña.

Después de terminar en La Tinguiña fuimos a otro barrio que se llama Santa Rosa. Hicimos un estudio bíblico para la gente en una casa que una familia cristiana nos ha prestado. Viven allí y quieren brindar su casa para que podamos fundar una iglesia. No tomé una foto del grupo allí porque me olvidé. Será para la próxima vez.

We went to Ica yesterday because we're starting a new ministry there. Pray for the people that will be travelling to Ica each Friday and pray for the people of Ica that will be hearing the word of God. There is a small group of people that have been praying for a Koinonia church in Ica for several years now. We want to make disciples in Ica!

At this time we're doing a Bible study in the street in the afternoon. It's really an evangelistic outreach. We ministered to the children in the neighborhood yesterday and I took these pictures of the children that were there at the very end. The neighborhood is called La Tinguiña.

After finishing in La Tinguiña we went to another neighborhood callled Santa Rosa. We did a Bible study in a house that a family is letting us use there. They live there and want to help us start a church in their home for the time being. I didn't take a picture of the group there because I forgot. It will have to be for the next time.

El Festival de Niños Fue un Exito. The Children´s Festival Was A Success

Gracias a todos los que oraron por el festival de niños anoche. Realmente fue lindo ver como Dios obró. Llegaron muchas personas nuevas y personas que han escuchado la palabra ántes pero no han entregado su vida al Señor todavía. En total fueron 150 personas. Este grupo incluye muchas personas del barrio y unas 15 madres e hijos que tienen sida. Fue un privilegio para nosotros poder ministrarlos en el nombre del Señor. Dios es bueno. Gracias Señor por toda la provisión y poder compartir tú mensaje con la gente.

Cada niño escuchó la palabra de Dios, recibió un hot dog, refresco, un cono de golosinas, premios y un tiempo divertido. Cada adulto recibió un folleto y una explicación del orígen de halloween.

Thanks to everyone that prayed for the children´s festival last night. It was really great to see how God worked. A lot of new people came and a lot of people that have heard the word before but haven´t given their lives to the Lord yet. There were about 150 people in total. That includes a lot of people from the neighborhood and a group of 15 mothers and children that have aids. It was a privilege to be able to minister to them all in the Lord´s name. God is good, Thanks Lord for the provision to be able to share your message with the people.

El Show Comenzó con Alabanza. The Show Began With Praise

Ricardo tocó la guitarra y Pilar estaba apoyando en todo. Gracias a todos los que apoyaron en muchas cosas. Fue bueno ver como casi toda la iglesia colaboró en algo. Es mucho trabajo preparar un evento así. Estamos muy contentos por lo que hizo Dios a través de su pueblo.

Ricardo played the guitar and Pilar was helping in everything. Thanks to everyone that helped in so many ways. It was good to see that almost everyone in the church helped in some way. It´s a lot of work to prepare for an event like this. We´re so happy with what the Lord did through His people.

Los niños alabaron al Señor con muchas ganas. Se portaron muy bién a pesar de no tener mucho espacio. Gracias niños por escuchar y obedecer. Nos dan ganas de hacerlo otra vez el año que viene si Dios permite.

The children praised the Lord with a lot of enthusiasm. They behaved very well even though there wasn´t a lot of space. Thanks for listening and obeying, children. You encourage us to do it all over again next year, God willing.

Esta noche va a ser una noche especial porque estamos realizando el festival de niños. Queremos aprovechar de la oportunidad de invitar a los niños a la iglesia para divertirse, recibir premios, etc. y más importante, escuchar la palabra de Dios. Ya sabemos que van a venir muchos niños con sus padres que no son cristianos. Oren por ellos y nosotros esta noche.


Tonight will be a special night because we've organized the children's festival. We want to take advantage of the opportunity. We've invited children to come to church to have a good time, receive prizes, etc. and most importantly, to hear the gospel. We already know that there will be many children and their parents in attendance that aren't christians. Pray for them and for us tonight.

Muchas Bendiciones. A Lot of Blessings

Esta semana hemos tenido muchas bendiciones de Dios en las iglesias de Koinonia. El grupo de Nueva Jersey ministró en Cañete e Ica. Trabajaron duros. Ayer fuimos con ellos a Santa Rosa de Villa (Muchos lo conocen como Puente Piedra). Sin poder anunciarlo a muchas personas antes por falta de tiempo, fuimos sin saber que esperar. Cuando llegamos, la gente nos estaba esperando. Fueron muchos niños y 22 mujeres. Una peruana del grupo de Nueva Jersey compartió con las damas primero y luego le tocó a Betty. Los del grupo compartieron la palabra de Dios con los niños y jugaron futbol también. Pasamos un tiempo muy lindo.

Esta semana recibimos a Pastor George, su esposa Lori, y Marcelo de Boyton Beach también. Pastor Ty de Calvary Chapel West Boca Raton vino con ellos. Vinieron para ver lo que Dios está haciendo aquí y para visitar a Robin y Tracy. Fueron a Canta, San Vicente y Santa Rosa y compartieron algo muy breve en la reunión de oración el martes. Siempre es bueno pasar tiempo con George y e Lori. Marcelo es lindo y Pastor Ty es un hombre que hemos aprendido a querer mucho. Tenemos mucho en común con él.

Anoche llegaron algunas personas de la iglesia para preparar chocotejas. Las hacemos para levantar fondos para los viajes misioneros. Después de terminar, la gente se quedó para conversar y pasamos un tiempo muy grato con todos. Hoy día tenemos el último ensayo para el festival de niños este miércoles. Oren por los niños y padres que vendrán. Queremos que Dios use el evento para que los vecinos y amigos puedan conocer a Cristo.


This week we´ve had a lot of blessings from God in the Koinonia Churches. The group from New Jersey has been ministering in San Vicente and Ica. They´re here in Lima now because they´ll be returning to the U.S. this evening. We went to Santa Rosa de Villa yesterday (some of you know the area as Puente Piedra), without having much time to let the people know that we were going. We really didn´t know what to expect but when we got there, the people were already there waiting for us. Flor, a peruvian that came with the team from Jersey shared with the ladies first. After she finished, Betty shared from God´s word as well. 22 women were there. The grouip taught a Bible story to the children and played football with them as well. It was really a blessed day.

Pastor George, his wife Lori and Marcelo came from Boynton Beach this week as well. Pastor Ty from Calvary Chapel West Boca came along. They went to Canta, San Vicente and Santa Rosa. They came to see what the Lord has been doing here in Peru and to visit with Robin and Tracy. It´s always a blessing to spend time with George and Lori. Marcelo is great and it was a blessing to get to know Ty. We learned to really love him as well. We have a lot in common with him.

Some of the people from the church came by last night to make chocotejas. We make them to raise money for our missions trips. After finishing the people stayed to fellowship and we all had a great time. Today we have the last rehearsel for the Children´s Festival this Wednesday. We want to preach the gospel to the neighbors and others through this event. Pray that God will be glorified in all that takes place. Pray that children and adults will give their lives to Christ through the event as well.

Somos Hábiles. We're Capable

Muchos cristianos hemos llegado a ser extremadamente hábiles en organizar nuestras vidas de tal manera que admitimos la verdad del cristianismo sin ser avergonzados por todo lo que ésta implica. Ha sido un día interesante. En la mañana hubo un temblor mas o menos fuerte. La gente se asustó.

Tarde...

Acabo de tomar una foto de un omnibus que se incendió hace unos minutos. Mis hijos me llamaron para avizar que había un incendio. Escuché a los bomberos pero estaba ocupado y no quería salir de la oficina. Cuando escuché y sentí la explosión salí a la calle para tomar una foto. No sé que ha pasado. Espero que todos hayan podido salir del carro sin sufrir ningún daño.

It's been an interesting day. This morning there was a pretty strong tremor. The people got a little scare out of it.

Afternoon...

I just took a picture of a bus that caught on fire a few minutes ago. My children were calling me to let me know about the fire. I heard the firemen too, but I was busy doing some things in the office and I didn't want to leave. When I heard the explosion and felt it as well I went out to take the picture. I don't really know what happened. I hope everyone was able to get out of the bus without being hurt.

Les pido que oren por mi esposa Betty. Está enferma hace varios días pero no ha podido descansar mucho porque tiene responsabilidades. Ha cocinado por el grupo, etc. Estoy viajando a Canta esta mañana pero ella se queda porque está mal y tiene que descansar e ir al médico. Gracias por orar por ella.

I ask you to pray for my wife Betty. She´s been sick for several days now but hasn´t really been able to rest much because of her responsabilities. She´s been cooking for the group, etc. I´m travelling to Canta this morning but she´ll be staying back because she´s not well and has to rest and go to the doctor. Thanks for praying for her.

Dos Grupos. Two Groups.

Estamos muy agradecidos al Señor por el grupo de Cornerstone Calvary Chapel de Howell, Nueva Jersey. Han llegado ocho personas que van a ayudar en Cañete e Ica con el ministerio. Están participando con un grupo que se llama "Calvary Chapel Relief" o Apoyo de Capilla Calvario. Van a servir con Pastor Jaime.

Anoche llegó otro grupo también. Pastor George y su esposa Lori están aquí de visita con Marcel también. Ellos son de Calvary Chapel Boynton Beach Florida. Pastor Tye Riter de Calvary Chapel West Boca está aquí con ellos. Esta mañana estamos saliendo rumbo a Canta y Acochaca. El miércoles van a ir a Cañete y el jueves van a visitar la obra en Santa Rosa de Villa.


We´re very thankful to the Lord for the group from Cornerstone Calvary Chapel from Howell New Jersey. Eight people have come to help in Cañete and Ica with the ministry. They´re part of the group that´s called "Calvary Chapel Relief" which is a ministry for those that are burned out on Calvary Chapel. (Just kidding). It´s a group that does disaster relief ministry. They´ll be serving with Pastor Jaime.

Another group arrived last night as well. Pastor George and his wife Lori are here visiting along with Marcelo. They´re from Calvary Chapel Boynton Beach Florida. Pastor Tye Riter, from Calvary Chapel West Boca is with them. We´re leaving for Canta and Acochaca this morning. They´ll be going to Cañete this Wednesday and to Santa Rosa de Villa on Thursday.

Nuevo Ministerio en Ica. New Ministry in Ica

Pastor Jaime, Kervin de Koinoinia Cañete y yo, fuimos a Ica ayer. Hicimos un estudio bíblico en la calle. Fuimos a un lugar donde hemos apoyado un poco con víveres y cosas así después del terremoto. Hace unos años hay un grupo de personas que está orando por una iglesia nuestra en su cuidad. Estamos orando por eso también. Tomamos la decisión ir una vez por semana y así compartir la palabra de Dios con ellos y tal vez comenzar a discipular a la gente. El jueves va a ir un grupo de Nueva Jersey con Pastor Jaime. El siguiente Viernes iré yo. En el principio vamos a enseñar la biblia en dos lugares distintos el mismo día para alcanzar a toda la gente que podamos.

A veces pienso que estamos haciendo mucho por ser una iglesia tan chiquita pero a la vez, es bueno estar ocupados en las cosas del Señor, más aún cuando hay gente que está esperando tanto tiempo. La mies es mucha y los obreros son pocos. Sigamos orando por los lugares que están deseando una iglesia nuestra pero no hay un pastor que podemos enviar todavía. Oren por Jaime, los otros líderes y yo porque sabemos que es un gran reto comenzar otro ministerio cuando ya estamos tan ocupados. A la vez, quiero que sepan que no me quejo, más bien estoy emocionado. ¿Quién sabe lo que Dios hará a través de esta nueva iniciativa. Dios es bueno.

Pastor Jaime, Kervin from Koinonia Cañete and I went to Ica yesterday. We did a Bible study in the street. We went to a place where we have helped the people out a little with food, etc. after the earthquake. A few years back a group of people started praying for a church like ours in their city (Ica). We’re praying for one too. Well, we have decided to go there once a week and share the word of God with the people and hopefully start to disciple some people. Jaime will be going again on Thursday with a group from New Jersey. The following Friday, I'll be going. We'll start with teaching the Bible in two different places so that we can reach as many people as possible.

Sometimes I think that we’re already doing a lot as such a small church, but it’s good to be busy in the Lord’s work, especially when the people have been praying and waiting for so long. The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Let’s keep praying for the places that want a church like ours but know that we don’t have a pastor that we can send yet. Pray for Jaime, the leaders and I because we know that it’s a big challenge to start another ministry when we’re so busy already. At the same time, please don’t think that I’m complaining. I’m actually pretty excited. Who knows what God will do through this new initiative? God is good.

Siempre es bueno recordar de nuestra hermana Angie que se encuentra en La India. Está allí apoyando a un ministerio que ayuda a niños necesitados. Algunos son huérfanos, otros son niños de la calle que ahora viven en al alberque, etc. Angie ayuda a lleverlos al colegio, cocinar, y apoya en lo que pueda. Angie está aprendiendo mucho a la vez. Oren por Angie hoy día, y todos los días.

It's always good to remember our sister Angie. She's in India. She's there helping out at a ministriy that helps needy children. Some are orphans, others are street children that now live in the children's home, etc. Angie es helping to bring them to school, cooking and helping in whatever she can. She's learning a lot at the same time. Pray for Angie today, and everyday.

Una Semana de Bendición. A Week of Blessing

La semana pasada fue de gran bendición para la gente de Koinonia y los barrios donde las tres iglesias se reúnen. Llegó un grupo de médicos de los Estados Unidos y trabajaron duros.

Fueron a Santa Rosa de Villa (Puente Piedra) los días lunes y martes. Los días miércoles y jueves atendieron a los pacientes en San Vicente Cañete. El grupo fue organizado por Fabián y Jeanie Hurtado de Orlando Florida. El ministerio aquí fue organizado por Américo Romero, José Jiménez y la doctora Rosa Escudero. Mientras que los médicos y enfermeras atendieron a las necesidades físicas, los de la iglesia apoyaron en muchas maneras como, traducción, limpiar los baños, apuntar la información necesaria, repartir las medicinas y predicar la palabra de Dios. 764 pacientes fueron atendidos en los 4 días de ministerio en los dos lugares. El día viernes el grupo regresó a Santa Rosa para repartir 20 canastas de víveres a las familias que realmente las necesitan.

Una de las cosas mas lindas fue ver como la gente de las 3 iglesias trabajó en equipo para hacer todo un éxito. La gente de Surco tuvo que salir tempranito para poder llegar al destino a la hora correcta. La gente de Santa Rosa estaba trabajando bastante bien desde el día domingo y la gente de Cañete realmente tuvo que trabajar duro para poder atender a muchas personas y mantener la calma. Los médicos me dijeron ha sido la mejor campaña medica que han realizado. No esperaban encontrar todo tan organizado. Gracias Américo, José y Doctora Rosa. ¡Gracias Señor por tu apoyo en todo! Tu nombre está siendo glorificado.


Mientras que los demás estaban trabajando en la campaña medica, yo estaba enseñando en el Instituto Bíblico de Calvary Chapel aquí en Lima. Enseñe el libro de Colosenses cada noche. Espero que haya sido una bendición para los alumnos. El jueves Jimmy Palomino me reemplazó en el estudio bíblico en Surco. Me dijeron todos que enseñó bien bonito. Gracias Jimmy, el Señor te está usando mucho en la iglesia. Me agrada saber que la iglesia ha crecido en madurez. Ahora todos pueden realizar una campaña médica sin ningún apoyo de mi parte, continuar en la iglesia a la vez y todo sale perfecto. Ahora yo estoy libre para realizar otras cosas en el reino de Dios.



Last week was a great blessing for the people of Koinonia and the neighborhoods where the three churches meet. A group of doctors came from the United States and worked very hard. The group was organized by Fabian and Jeanie Hurtado from Orlando and Americo Romero, Jose Jimenez and doctor Rosa Escudero organized the ministry here.

The group ministered in Santa Rosa on Monday and Tuesday and in San Vicente on Wednesday and Thursday. While the doctors saw patients, the people from the churches helped with translation, cleaning the bathrooms, taking information from the patients, giving out the medicines and sharing the gospel with the people. 764 patients were seen in total in the four days of medical ministry. On Friday the group returned to Santa Rosa de Villa to give out food baskets to 20 needy families.

One of the nicest things for me was seeing the way all of the people from the churches worked together. The people from Surco had to leave early in the morning to get to the other churches on time to get everything ready. The people from Santa Rosa started working on Sunday so that they would have everything ready for the next day and the people from San Vicente had to work hard to be able to help all of the patients that they saw there and make sure that everyone stayed calm. The doctors told me that this was the best medical missions trip they have made. They were so surprised to see everything done in such an orderly way. Thanks Americo, Jose and Doctor Rosa. Thanks Lord for your help in everything! Your name is being glorified!


While everyone else was working in the medical campaign I was teaching at the Calvary Chapel Bible College here in Lima. I taught the book of Colossians each night. I hope it was a blessing for the students. While I taught there, Jimmy Palomino filled in for me on Thursday night. Everyone told me that it was a great teaching. Thanks Jimmy, you´re really being used by the Lord in the church. It´s great to see how the church is maturing. I don´t even have to be involved in the ministries now. They continue without me. Now I´m more freed up to do other things in the kingdom of God.

Campaña Médica Noticias. Medical Missions News

Muchas gracias a los que oraron por la campaña médica en Santa Rosa de Villa ayer. Atendieron a 180 personas más o menos. Hoy día están ministrando allí también. Mañana comienza la campaña en Cañete. Fernando y Aarón están saliendo a predicar la palabra en las calles hoy día también. Van a estar predicando el evangelio todo el día. Yo (Brian) estoy enseñando en el Instituto Bíblico de Calvary Chapel esta semana. Estoy enseñando el libro de Colosenses. Muchas cosas buenas están pasando. Sigamos orando.

Thanks to everyone that prayed for the medical ministry in Santa Rosa de Villa yesterday. Approximately 180 people received medical help yesterday. The team is ministering there today as well. The ministry will be taking place in Cañete starting tomorrow. Fernando and Aaron are preaching the gospel in the streets today too. They’ll be preaching pretty much all day. I (Brian) am teaching in the Calvary Chapel Bible College this week. I’m teaching Colossians. A lot of good things are happening. Let’s keep praying.

Campaña Médica. Medical Ministry

Hoy día comienza una campaña médica en la iglesia de Santa Rosa de Villa. Algunos la conocen como la iglesia de Puente Piedra. Ha llegado un grupo de medicos y enfermeras de Orlando y van a atender a los pacientes en el barrio. Vamos a compartir la palabra de Dios con la gente también. La gente que se congrega en Santa Rosa está apoyando bastante y la gente de Surco también. Oren por el ministerio esta semana porque después de dos días en Santa Rosa, el grupo estará ministrando en Cañete también.

Today is the first day of a medical missions outreach in the church in Santa Rosa de Villa. Some of you know it as Puente Piedra. A group of doctors, nurses and others have come from Orlando to help the people of the neighborhood. We’ll be sharing the word of God with the patients as well. The people that fellowship in Santa Rosa are helping a lot, and the people from Surco as well. Pray for the ministry this week because after two days of ministry in Sant Rosa, the group will be ministering in Cañete too.

Como ya saben, no somos los únicos cristianos en el mundo. Ni siquiera somos la única iglesia que se llama Koinonia. Aquí hay una foto de la iglesia Calvary Chapel Koinoinia en Alemania. Son nuestros hermanos en la fé. Sería bueno orar por ellos y otros cristianos en otros paises hoy día. Orando podemos ministrar a muchos lugares distintos estando en nuestra propia ciudad. Mas abajo verán porque he puesto la foto de esta iglesia aquí.

As you already know, we´re not the only christians in the world. We´re not even the only church thats called Koinonia. Here´s a photo of Calvary Chapel Koinonia Hannover Germany. They´re our brothers in the faith. It would be good to pray for them and other christians in other countries today. Through prayer we can minister to many different places while we stay in our own city. Below you will see why I put the photo from this church here.

Los Contactos de Angie. Angie's Contacts

Aquí pueden apreciar la foto de arriba donde Timothy y Marcus están conversando. Timothy es el líder del ministerio en Bombay India que se llama Inter-Mission. Marcus Egger es el presidente de la organización. Se reunieron en Hannover Alemania en estos últimos días.

En la de abajo están Timothy y su esposa Somali con Peter Will. Peter es pastor de Calvary Chapel Koinonia en Hannover. Angie me dice que Peter tiene el mismo corazón o por decir, la misma visión que tengo yo. Espero conocerlo un día. ¿Quién sabe? Lo interesante es que Peter pasó una buena parte de su juventud aquí en Lima como hijo de misioneros.... ¡y la iglesia se llama Koinonia también! Angie está hospedada en la casa de Pastor Peter estos días.

In the upper photo you can see Timothy and Marcus talking. Timothy is the leader of the ministry in Bombay India called Inter-Mission. Marcus Egger is the president of the organization. They had a meeting in Hannover Germany the last few days.

In the bottom photo are pictured Timothy with his wife Somali and Peter Will. Peter is the pastor of Calvary Chapel Koinonia in Hannover. Angie says that Peter has the same heart, the same vision that I have. I hope to meet him one day. Who knows? The interesting thing is that Peter spent quite a bit of his youth here in Lima as a missionary kid... And the church is called Koinonia too! Angie es staying with Peter and his wife these days there in Hannover.

Ha sido una conferencia de la misión de la India donde Angie va a estar ministrando y aprendiendo. Angie está en Alemania como parte de su entrenamiento antes de partir a la India. Here are some photos of the Inter-Mission conference. Angie attended this past weekend there in Hannover. It was a conference for the mission in India where Angie will be going to minister and learn. Viaje a Cusi. Trip to Cusi

Pastor Jaime, Americo, Kervin y Robin están ministrando en Cusi hoy día. Van a ver cuales son las necesidades de la gente, como podemos apoyar y van a predicar la palabra de Dios. Cusi es un pueblito en la cierra de Yauyos que ha sido afectado mucho por el terremoto. Es más dificil ministrar allí porque es dificil llegar. No sabemos si van a regresar muy tarde esta noche o mañana. Oren por ellos por favor.

Pastor Jaime, Americo, Kervin and Robin are ministering in Cusi today. They're going to see what the needs of the people are, how we can help and they going to preach the word of God. Cusi is a small mountain village in the mountain area of Yauyos that was effected by the earthquake quite a bit. It's harder to minister there because it's an area that is difficult to get to. We don't know if the team will return late tonight or tommorrow. Pray for them.

La Despedida de Angie. The Going Away Party

Anoche hicimos la despedida de Angie en la iglesia. No esperamos un viaje tan rápido y por eso no todos han podido llegar. Si no te avisamos, no ha sido por falta de querer, sino simplemente porque no hubo tiempo. Angie nos avisó a las 4 de la tarde ayer que iba a viajar hoy día en la tarde. Bueno, comimos, oramos, lloramos y cantamos. Al final nos despedimos oficialmente de Angie por un tiempo. Por si acaso, estaremos en el aeropuerto Jorge Chavez esta tarde a la 1:45 p.m. con Angie si te gustaría ir.

Estamos muy contentos por lo que Dios va a enseñarle a Angie en su tiempo en Alemania y Mumbai India. Oren por ella.

We said good bye to Angie in the church last night. We didn´t expect her to travel so soon and for this reason, not everyone could make it to the meeting. If we didn´t let you know, it wasn´t because we didn´t want to. It was just for a lack of time. Angie let us know that she would be travelling today at about 4 in the afternoon yesterday. Well, we ate, we prayed, we cried and we sang. In the end, we said our official good byes to Angie for a time. By the way, we will be in the Jorge Chavez airport at about 1:45 this afternoon with Angie if you would like to go.

We´re very happy for what God will be teaching Angie while she´s in Germany and then in Mumbai India.

Angie al Campo Misionero. Angie to the Mission Field

Después de mucha oración nuestra hermana en la fe Angie se va al campo misionero. Va a Alemania primero por 2 semanas de entrenamiento y luego a Mumbai India donde estará ministrando con un grupo que se llama inter-mission.

Pensamos en hacer una reunión especial mañana para poder orar por ella y celebrar la santa cena con ella una vez más antes de su viaje pero las cosas han cambiado. Ahora se ha adelantado su viaje y se va mañana en la tarde. Para los interesados y los que pueden, vamos a hacer una reunión esta noche a las 8:30 p.m. Queremos orar por ella.

Estamos muy contentos y muy tristes a la vez. Sabemos que Cristo nos ha enviado a predicar la palabra de Dios hasta los confines de la tierra y sabemos que Dios ha puesto este viaje en el corazón de Angie. A la vez vamos a extrañarla y será muy dificil reemplazarla. No, será imposible reemplazarla solo tenemos que seguir adelante.

After a lot of prayer and preparation Angie, our sister in the Lord will be going to the mission field. She´ll be going to Germany first for two weeks of training and then to Mumbai India where she will be ministering with a group called inter-mission.

We were planning to do a special meeting for her tomorrow night. We wanted to pray for her and share communion with her one more time but plans have changed and now she´ll be leaving tommorrow afternoon. For those that are interested, we will be having a meeting tonight at 8:30. We want to pray for Angie.

We´re very happy and very sad at the same time. We know that Jesus told us to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth and we know that God has put this mission on Angie´s heart. At the same time we´re going to miss her so much and it will be hard to replace her. No, it will be impossible. We can´t replace Angie, we can only go forward while we miss her.

Fuimos al distrito de Yauyos ayer porque escuchamos de los problemas que están enfrentando los pueblos allí por causa del terremoto. Algunos pueblos de Yauyos están bien lejos y muy aislados. Por eso no llega el apoyo necesario. Definitivamente Dios nos guió a un pueblo bien aislado. Es difícil llegar hasta allí. El pueblo se llama Cusi. Fue un viaje bien difícil, largo y un poco peligroso. Experimentamos sentiemientos de frustración y gozo y necesitabamos ejercer la fe en el Señor en varias oportunidades. Al final terminamos ministrando, pero siendo ministrados más por el Señor. We went to the district of Yauyos yesterday because we heard that the people were having problems due to the earthquake. Some of the villages of Yauyos are really far away and isolated. For that reason, they don't receive much help. We were definitely lead of the Lord in this trip. He lead us to a place that's hard to get to. The village is called Cusi. It was a long, difficult and dangerous trip. We experienced frustration and joy and we really needed to exercise our faith in the Lord at various times. In the end we ministered to the people but we were ministered to much more. I want to encourage you to take a look at some of the pictures of our trip. El Pueblo de Cusi. The Village of Cusi.

El Pueblo sufrió bastante daño por el terremotos pero sigue siendo hermoso. La gente es tan linda también. Oren por este pueblo.
The village suffered a lot of damage due to the earthquake but it continues to be beautiful and the people are beautiful too.

¿Que Pasa? ¿Puedo Colaborar? What´s Happening? Can I Help?

El grupo que está en Ica ha llamado por teléfono para avisarnos acerca de la situación. Dicen que hay bastante necesidad y que están apoyando en lo que se puede. Un grupo de 5 hombres de California ha viajado hasta Ica también. Estan repartiendo lo que ha sido donado. Queremos seguir apoyando a la gente de Ica en el futuro. Obviamente estamos hablando de una necesidad muy grande que va a durar largo tiempo. Pienso que es una buena oportunidad porque al ministrar a la gente en una manera práctica podemos demostrar el amor de Dios y predicar la palabra a la vez.

El lunes tenemos planeado ir a Yauyos para ver si podemos hacer algo allí también. Yauyos está en la sierra de Cañete y ha sido afectado por el terremoto.

Oren por nosotros y los de Cañete también. Jaime estuvo en la Iglesia anoche y compartió con nosotros acerca de lo que están haciendo y como el Señor está bendeciendo a ellos en medio de tanto trabajo y confusión.

The group that´s in Ica has called to tell us that they´re okay but there is a tremendous need there. They´ve been giving out food, blankets, clothing and other things to the people. 5 men arrived from California to help as well and they´ve been serving in Ica as well giving out what has been donated. We want to continue to help the people of Ica in the future. We´re seeing that there will be a huge need there for a long time to come yet. I feel that this is a great opportunity to minister to the people in a very practical way and to be able to preach the gospel as well.

God willing we´ll be going to Yauyos on Monday. It´s an area that has been hit hard by the earthquake. It´s in the mountains of Cañete. We hope to be able to help out there as well.

Pray for us and for Cañete too. Jaime was here at the church last night sharing about what he and the people at the church in Cañete have been doing. God is really allowing them to minister in great ways as the work in the midst of so much confusion around them.

If you live in Lima and are interested in helping, you can bring food, blankets, water and other things to Koinonia and we´ll make sure that it get´s to where it needs to go. The clothing should be brought in small bags with the size and sex clearly marked on it so that we can deliver it more effectively.

Algunos están preguntando si el terremoto ha sido fuerte o no. Las fotos cuentan la historia.

¿Que Está Pasando? What's Happening?

Esta mañana enviamos víveres, ropa, frazadas y otras cosas a Cañete con un grupo de peruanos y estadounidenses. Gracias a todos los que están colaborando. Un grupo de Koinonia salió esta mañana también rumbo a Ica donde hay más problemas por el terremoto. Oren por su seguridad porque hemos escuchado de violencia y robos en la carretera o otros lugares. Más de 100 presos se escaparon del penal en el terremoto y están haciendo problemas como se pueden imaginar. Oren por Americo, José, Angie y los de Ica que estarán apoyando a repartir todo allá.

Si Dios permite estaremos ministrando en la sierra de Cañete donde hay mucha necesidad y no hay mucho apoyo todavía.


We sent food stuffs, clothing, blankets and other items to Cañete with a group of peruvians and people from the United States. Thanks to everyone that is participating. A group from Koinonia left this morning to go to Ica as well. There is more damage in Ica than in Cañete due to the earthquakes severity. Pray for the group that left for Ica this morning because we have heard that there has been some violence and theft along the highway. More than 100 prisoners escaped from the prison during the earthquake and they're causing problems as you can imagine. Pray for Americo, José, Angie and the people from Ica that will be helping us distribute the necessary items there.

Lord willing, we will be going to the mountains of Cañete next week to help out there as well because we have heard that the help is not getting to those isolated areas yet.

Muchas gracias a todos los que han escrito mensajes preguntando por nosotros y la situación. Pastor Jaime está trabajando duro en Cañete todos los días con gente cristiana de varias iglesias. Están entregando víveres, linternas, ropa y apoyando a la gente en cualquier forma posible. Mañana estaremos enviando un grupo de personas a Ica también porque hay más necesidad allí todavía. Como cristianos, queremos aprovechar del momento para compartir el amor de Dios con la gente.

Many thanks to everyone that has written messages asking about us and the situation. Pastor Jaime is working hard these days. There are many christians from various churches that are going to Cañete to help out. They're giving out food, flashlights and clothing and are helping the people in any way that they can. We'll be sending a team to Ica tomorrow as well because there is even more need there. As Christians, we want to take advantage of this time to share the love of Jesus with the people.

Ya saben que hemos pasado por unos momentos interesantes por los dos terremotos anoche. Gracias a Dios todos están bien. Hay un grupo de Florida que estaba en Cañete cuando pasó todo. Llegaron aquí a Lima con bien aunque no han podido sacar todas sus cosas de la casa de Pastor Jaime porque está inestable. Pastor Jaime y otros estaremos viendo el daño de su casa y las casas de los hermanos de la iglesia hoy. Vamos a llevar víveres, frazadas y ropa. Mas tarde pondré más información y unas fotos si Dios permite. Oren por la gente que ha sida afectada. Gracias.

Well you already know that we've had some interesting moments due to the 2 earthquakes last night. Praise the Lord everyone is okay. There is a group from Florida that was in Cañete last night when everything happened. They got to Lima okay although they weren't able to get everything out of Pastor Jaime's house. It's very unstable. Pastor Jaime, myself and others will be going to see the damage done to the houses of the people in the church and to evaluate what we can do to help. We'll be bringing food, blankets and clothing. God willing, I'll put more information and some pictures here later. Pray the people that have been affected. Thanks

Anoche llegó un grupo de Calvary Chapel in the City, Boston (Calvary Chapel En La Ciudad). Las damas fueron a Cañete esta mañana y van a ministrar allí hasta mañana en la noche. Los hombres fueron a hacer construcción en Puente Piedra. Van a hacer alcances evangelísticos en este fin de semana también. El viernes comienza la clase de teología de nuevo. Esta vez vamos a estudiar acerca de Jesucristo. Pastor Esteban de Boston estará enseñando la primera clase.


A group from Calvary Chapel in the city Boston arrived last night. The women went to Cañete this morning and will be ministering there until tomorrow night. The men went to Puente Piedra where they will be doing construction for several days. This weekend they will be doing outreaches as well. Friday night we will be starting our theology classes again and the topic is Jesus Christ. Pastor Steve from Boston will be teaching this week.

Los Chicos. Kids

Es muy raro que las necesidades de los chicos lleguen en el momento oportuno. Lo que requieren para alcanzar el éxito rara vez se consigue sin ningún costo. Criarlos bien requiere hacer diariamente muchos sacrificios, los cuales tienen un maravilloso efecto espiritual, pues ayudan a moldearnos en el propio carácter de Jesucristo. Dios nos invita a crecer más allá de nosotros mismos, a dejar de actuar como si nuestros sueños nada más comenzaran y terminaran en nosotros. Una vez que tenemos hijos ya no podemos actuar ni soñar como si ellos no existieran.

Una Familia Entera. A Whole Family

“Hermanos, ya sabéis que la familia de Estéfanas es las primicias de Acaya, y que ellos se han dedicado al servicio de los santos”.
1 Corintios 16:15

Anoche leímos 1 Corintios 16 en nuestro devocional familiar y hablé con mis hijos sobre lo importante de tener una familia entera ministrando a los santos y de la bendición que ello supone. Los animé a permanecer alerta en torno a lo que el Espíritu Santo quiere hacer en sus vidas. Me encanta saber que ellos ya han visto obrar a Dios en sus vidas y a través de ellas cuando buscan glorificar Su nombre, en Su iglesia. Luego pasamos un lindo momento de oración. Ellos oraron por su abuelo, por los otros niños de la escuela dominical que a veces se portan mal, por el grupo de los Estados Unidos que está de visita y por otras cosas más. Terminaron la oración pidiéndole a Dios que su papá pudiera enseñar la Biblia en muchos lugares del Perú donde la gente necesita de la Palabra de Dios. Resulté muy bendecido. Oro para que Dios levante en este y otros países muchas familias más que ministren juntas. Nos equivocamos si pensamos que nuestros hijos deben esperar a ser adultos antes de ser usados por Dios.

We read 1 Corinthians 16 last night for our family devotional and I spoke to our children about the blessing and importance there is in having a whole family ministering to the saints. I encouraged our children to be open to the leading of God’s Spirit in their lives. I love the fact that they have already seen God working in and through them as they seek to glorify His name in His church. Afterward we had a nice prayer time. They prayed for their grandfather, the children in Sunday School that don’t always behave very well, the group that’s visiting from the States and other things, and they finished their prayer asking the Lord to help their dad to teach the Bible in many places in Peru where the people need God’s word. I was so blessed. I pray that God will encourage families here in Peru and throughout the world to minister together. We’re mistaken if we think that our children have be adults before they can be used of God.
