Rumbo a Ayacucho On The Way To Ayacucho

Esta noche estamos yendo a Ayacucho después del culto. Estaremos partiendo de la iglesia a las 8:45 p.m. y de la agencia a las 9:30. Oren por nosotros y el viaje misionero que estamos realizando. Oren por Americo, David, Carlos, Jimmy, Brian, Angie y Oninxha. Oren por los Ayacuchanos también. Vamos a enseñar en el seminario Metodista y en unas iglesias. También vamos a hacer un show de mimos y payasos en un colegio y en las calles. Vamos a predicar en un barrio donde todavía no hay conocimiento de la palabra de Dios. Vamos a aprender mucho. ¡Que Dios reciba la gloria!

We’ll be going to Ayacucho this evening after church. We’ll be leaving the church at 8:45 and leaving the bus station at about 9:30. Pray for us and the mission trip that we’ll be making. Pray for Americo, David, Carlos, Jimmy, Brian, Angie and Oninxha. Pray for the people of Ayacucho as well. We’ll be teaching in the Methodist seminary and some churches. We’ll be doing a mime and puppet show in a school and in the streets. We’ll be preaching in a neighborhood where no one has heard the word of God too. We’ll be learning a lot. May God receive all the glory!

¿Pueden Ir Los Niños? Can the Children Go?

“cuando tuvo doce años, subieron a Jerusalén conforme a la costumbre de la fiesta.” Lucas 2:42 Ayer en la mañana estábamos escuchando la radio cristiana. Escuchamos a una adolescente compartir un poco de su historia junto con su papa. A los 10 años, ella fue a un viaje misionerio en Haiti. Allí pudo ver y experimentar cosas nuevas y en su viaje nació el deseo de ver a sus padres adoptar a un huérfano. En el principio su mama no estaba de acuerdo pero la niña seguía orando y orando. Al final terminaron adoptando. No pude escuchar todo el programa pero me quedé impresionado con la historia. Que bueno ver como Dios utilizó a una niña para ayudar a un huérfano. Que importante fue su experiencia en el campo misionero siendo tan jovencita. De vez en cuando alguién nos pregunta si es recomendable invitar a un niño visitar el campo misionero con sus padres. Depende de las circunstancias pero mayormente yo creo que es una buena oportunidad para dar a un niño una visión más amplia del mundo que Dios ama y que Cristo murió para poder salvar. Hasta hoy día, todos los niños que nos han visitado han sido una bendición para El Perú y sé que el viaje ha sido una bendición para ellos también. Hay que recordar que Jesús hizo un viaje misionero con mucho éxito a los 12 años de edad. “And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.” Luke 2:42 We were listening to Christian radio yesterday morning and heard a teenager share her story along with her dad. She shared how she had gone on a missions trip to Haiti when she was about 10 years old. What she saw and experienced really impacted her life. One of the things that happened on that trip was that she began to want her parents to adopt an orphan. In the beginning, her mother wasn’t in agreement but the girl kept on praying and praying. The family ended up adopting. I wasn’t able to hear the rest of the story but it was great to hear how God used this little girl to help a child. It was also great to hear how this young girl’s mission trip changed her outlook on life even at such a young age. Once in a while someone will ask us if it’s a good idea to invite a child to go to the mission field on a short term trip with their parents. It certainly depends on the circumstances but I think the general answer is that it’s a great opportunity for a child to get a greater vision of the world that God loves and that Jesus died to save. Up to this point, all of the children that have visited us have been a blessing for the Peruvians and I know that it’s been a blessing for them to be there as well. We should remember that Jesus made a missions trip at the age of 12 and He was pretty successful.
