Marching 7 times
Last night we studied Joshua 6. The Israelites had to walk around Jericho once a day for the first six days. The seventh day they had to march around the city 7 times, blow the trumpets and shout. God gave them the victory.
At first glance it sounds like such nice story until we remember that God had told his people to work six days and then rest on the seventh day. Here we see that, apparently God makes them do more on the seventh day than on the first 6 days combined. What’s going on here?
There are important lesson for us in this story. One thing that’s important to remember is that God’s desires that His people rest in Him. That doesn’t mean a lack of activity. It means placing our complete trust in Him regarding the process and the end of what He calls us to undertake. Sometimes trusting the Lord and resting in Him requires activity. Sometimes it requires a fight. Sometimes it means taking it easy. It depends on what the Holy Spirit is calling us to do at a given time. Entering into His rest means that we stop doing things in our own strength and according to the flesh. It definitely means forgetting our plans and submitting our lives to the plan that God has for us, doing things His way. For the people to enter into the rest that God had prepared for them they had to occupy the land. That meant getting rid of those that were inhabitants of the land at that time. In order for us to enter into the rest that God has for us we have to kick out the inhabitants that aren’t pleasing to the Lord. We have to take steps of faith. The whole process requires faith and action.
Hebrews 4:9-11
There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Marchando 7 veces.
Anoche estudiamos Josué 6. Los Israelitas tuvieron que marchar alrededor de la ciudad de Jericó 6 días, una vez al día. El séptimo día tuvieron que marchar alrededor de la ciudad 7 veces, tocar las trompetas y gritar. Dios les dio la victoria sobre sus enemigos.
A primera vista la historia parece bonita pero cuando comenzamos a estudiarla vemos que Dios ,en la ley, había mandado a su pueblo trabajar seis días y descansar el séptimo día. Aquí vemos que aparentemente les manda a hacer mas en el séptimo día que han hecho en los primeros seis días combinados. ¿Qué pasa aquí? Hay lecciones en esta historia que es muy importante.
Una de las lecciones es que Dios desea que Su pueblo descanse en él. Esto no significa dejar de hacer actividades. Depende de lo que el Espíritu de Dios nos manda en el momento. Entrar en el descanso del Señor significa poner toda nuestra confianza en él en cuanto al proceso y el final de lo que él nos llama hacer. A veces confiar en el Señor y descansar en él requiere actividad. A veces requiere meternos en una lucha. A veces significa tomar vacaciones. Definitivamente, entrar en el descanso del Señor significa dejar de hacer las cosas con nuestra propia fuerza y en la carne. Para que el pueble de Dios pudiera entrar en la tierra prometida tenía que ocuparla, y ocuparla significaba desocupar a los habitantes. Para que podamos también entrar en el descanso del Señor tendremos que expulsar a los habitantes que no son gratos para él. Tendremos que tomar pasos de fe. Todo el proceso requiere la fe y la acción.
Hebreos 4:9-11
Por consiguiente, queda todavía un reposo para el pueblo de Dios; porque el que entra en el reposo de Dios descansa también de sus obras, así como Dios descansó de las suyas. Esforcémonos, pues, por entrar en ese reposo, para que nadie caiga al seguir aquel ejemplo de desobediencia.

Sergio Moreno
El pastor de la Iglesia Calvary Chapel Las Crucetas, Sergio Moreno sufrió un derrame cerebral el domingo en la noche. Está en una clínica aquí en Lima todavía. El martes le operaron pero los médicos no han visto ningún mejoramiento. Es todo lo contrario, ahora están esperando hasta que su corazón termine de latir por completo para poder declararlo muerto y para que desenlacen las máquinas.
Sergio está dejando a su esposa y su hijo que tiene solo 5 añitos. Además su iglesia que es de casi todos adolescentes y jóvenes estará sin pastor. Estamos pidiendo oración por la familia y la iglesia.

Una bebé recién nacida A New Born
Después de orar por una amiga 6 años anoche fuimos a hablar con ella en su casa y entregó su vida a Cristo. Gracias Señor por contestar nuestras oraciones. Señor, queremos que tú nos usas para alcanzar a mas gente todavía con tu gran evangelio.

Ken Gire
The cross stands like a set of scales silhouetted against the Jerusalem sky. Its upraised stanchion balances a crossbeam where love and justice meet, where all humanity has been weighed-and found wanting.
There Jesus hung waiting with outstretched arms, aching for a prodigal world’s return.
“Remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
It is the last kind word said to Jesus before He died, spoken not be a religious leader, nor by the disciple whom he loved, nor even by his mother standing at his feet, but by a common thief.
And with the words, “Today you will be with me in paradise,” that thief is lifted off those weighted scales and into the waiting arms of the Savior.

Chocotejas
La Escuela de Discípulado está vendiendo chocotejas para levantar fondos porque queremos hacer un viaje misionero a Ayachucho. Son riquísimas y las hacen Marissa Córdova y Oninxha Guevarra en la iglesia. Queremos viajar para poner en la práctica lo que hemos aprendido en los últimos seis meses de clases. Queremos enseñar los shows de títeres, mimos, otras cosas de la escuela dominical y queremos enseñar la palabra de Dios. The Discipleship School is selling chocotejas (Peruvian chocolates) to raise funds. We want to do a missions trip to Ayacucho. The chocolates are delicious. They´re made by Marissa Córdova and Oninxha Guevarra. We want to travel so that we can put everything that we´ve learned in the last six months of classes into practice. We want to teach our puppet shows, mimes and other things about Sunday School to the churches there. We want to teach the word of God too.

Isaiah 56:7b, “for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
We know that we are supposed to pray. We say that we believe that God answers prayer. I don’t want to list the reasons why we as Christian’s don’t pray as we should. I just know that I want to see the people in our church praying more. We need more of God presence manifested in our midst. I for one am really longing for God’s Spirit to do more of a work in my own life and in our church. Let’s really focus in this week on praying for God’s Spirit to bring us into a new realization of His presence in our lives. Let’s pray that we would remember that our main goal isn’t to have an easy life, to have everything we want, or even to be able to minister in a more powerful and effective way. Let’s pray that we would please Him in everything we think, say, listen to and do. He deserves all of our love.

Sabemos que es un deber de los cristianos orar. Decimos que creemos que Dios contesta las oraciones. No quiero hacer una lista de todas las razones por lo cual nosotros como cristianos no oramos como debe ser. Solo sé que quisiera ver a la gente de nuestra iglesia orando más. Necesitamos más de la presencia de Dios manifestada en nuestras vidas. Yo quiero que el Espíritu de Dios haga más en mi vida y en la de nuestra iglesia. Enfoquémonos esta semana en esto… pidiendo que el Espíritu nos haga comprender en una manera nueva la presencia de Dios en nuestras vidas. El jueves y viernes son feriados. El jueves algunas personas de la iglesia van a reunirse a las 10 de la mañana para jugar fulbito. Vamos a orar juntos en la tarde. Dirty Hands, Dirty Heart Manos Sucias, Corazón Sucio
Psalm 24:3-4
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
What monarch would have servants with filthy hands to wait at his table? They who were ceremonially unclean could not enter into the Lord's house which was made with hands, much less shall the morally defiled be allowed to enjoy spiritual fellowship with a holy God. If our hands are now unclean, let us wash them in Jesu's precious blood, and so let us pray unto God, lifting up pure hands. But "clean hands" would not suffice, unless they were connected with a pure heart. True religion is heart work. We may wash the outside of the cup and the platter as long as we please; but if the inward parts be filthy, we are filthy altogether in the sight of God, for our hearts are more truly ourselves than our hands are. We may lose our hands and yet live, but we could not lose our heart and still live; the very life of our being lies in the inner nature, and hence the imperative need of purity within. There must be a work of grace in the core of the heart as well as in the palm of the hand, or our religion is a delusion. May God grant that our inward powers may be cleansed by the sanctifying Spirit, so that we may love holiness and abhor all sin. The pure in heart shall see God, all others are but blind bats; stone blindness in the eyes arises from stone in the heart. Dirt in the heart throws dust in the eyes.

La Muñeca de Priscilla Priscilla's Doll
Proverbios 17:6, “el orgullo de los hijos son sus padres.”
2 cosas me han pasado en las últimas semanas que tal vez solo los otros padres pueden entender.
Hace dos semanas más o menos estaba en el carro con mis hijos y estábamos hablando del hecho de que todos tenemos que morir. No podemos escaparnos de la muerte. Al toque Priscilla, mi hija que tiene 4 años me preguntó. “¿Jesús tendrá que morir otra vez papi?” Fue un buen momento para explicarle de nuevo que era lo que hizo Jesús por nosotros y por que lo hizo.
Hace unos cuantos días entré a la casa y vi la muñeca de Priscilla en el mueble. Priscilla estaba jugando en su cuarto mientras Anna (7 años) y Marco (9 años) estaban en la natación. No sé porque pero viendo la muñeca pensé. “Falta poco tiempo y no veré las muñecas de mi hija en el sofá. El tiempo pasa tan rápido y los hijos crecen y cambian cada minuto. Aproveché para pasar un tiempo lindo con ella hablando de su día, escuchando música y leyendo la Biblia.
Vemos vez tras vez en la Biblia que Dios manda a los padres de las familias hacer cosas para que sus hijos puedan preguntar acerca de Dios.
En Levítico Dios manda a su pueblo celebrar la pascua y la fiesta de las enramadas. Dios quiere que los padres de familia tengan la oportunidad de compartir la fe con sus hijos en una manera muy especial y demostrativa.
En Josué Dios manda a su pueblo sacar piedras del rió Jordán y dejarlos como un monumento. ¿El propósito? Para que los hijos preguntaran lo que significaba y para que los padres respondieran.
Como Padres, tenemos una responsabilidad y una oportunidad muy grande. Podemos enseñar la palabra de Dios y principios bíblicos a nuestros hijos en una manera que las madres no pueden.
Es lindo hacer algo especial con nuestros hijos. Es bueno llevarles a la escuela dominical pero lo más importante es estar atentos cuando nos preguntan cosas de la vida. Es tan importante escuchar y responder a sus preguntas acerca de la Biblia. Nos escuchan y nos observan. Muy pronto no tendremos la misma influencia.
Deuteronomio 6:6,7“Grábate en el corazón estas palabras que hoy te mando. Incúlcaselas continuamente a tus hijos. Háblales de ellas cuando estés en tu casa y cuando vayas por el camino, cuando te acuestes y cuando te levantes.”

Two things have happened to me in the last two weeks that only other fathers can understand.
Two weeks ago I was in the car with my children and we were talking about the fact that everyone has to die. We can’t escape it. My 4 year old daughter Priscilla asked me a question right away. Will Jesus have to die again? She asked. It was a great opportunity to explain what Jesus did for us and why He did it to her again.
A few days ago I entered the house and saw one of Priscilla’s dolls on the couch. She was playing in her room while Anna (7 years old) and Marco (9 years old) were at their swimming class. I don’t know why exactly but when I saw the doll there I though to myself, “It won’t be long and I won’t be seeing her dolls on the couch anymore.” Time goes by so fast and our children grow and change every minute. I took advantage of the opportunity that day to spend some nice time with Priscilla. We listened to music, talked about her day and read the Bible.
Time after time God tells us in His word that we, as fathers are to do things so that our children will ask us about God.
In Leviticus God commands His people to celebrate the Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. God wants the fathers to have the opportunity to share their faith with their children in a very special and demonstrative way.
In Joshua God commands the people to take rocks out of the Jordan river and build a memorial. The reason is so that the children will ask their fathers about what happened and so that the fathers will be able to answer.
As fathers we have a responsibility and a great opportunity. We can teach the word of God and biblical principles to our children in a way that their mothers can’t. It’s really cool to be able to share something special with our children. It’s good to take them to Sunday School but the most important thing is to pay attention to them when they ask us questions about life. Listening and answering questions that our children ask about the Bible is essential. They’re listening to us and they’re observing what we do and how we are. It won’t be long and we won’t have the same influence on them.

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7“You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”[2]

2 Espías, Una Prostituta 2 Spies 1 Prostitute
Jeremías 29:11a
Porque yo sé muy bien los planes que tengo para ustedes afirma el Señor,
Las últimas semanas hemos hablado de Josué capítulo 2 en la iglesia. Habla de los 2 espías enviados por Josué. Estos dos pensaban que tenían que conocer las debilidades del enemigo, sus fortalezas y el terreno en general. No sabían que Dios tenía otro propósito. Realmente fueron enviados porque Dios quería salvar a una prostituta. El plan de Dios fue maravilloso porque los dos espías fueron usados por Dios pero la prostituta les animó en cuanto a Dios y la victoria que les esperaba. La prostituta Rajab llegó a ser parte del pueblo de Dios y antepasado del rey David y Jesucristo. El Nuevo Testamento habla de los 2 espías pero no los llama espías sino mensajeros. Habla de Rajab la prostituta como una heroína de la fe.
Tal vez hoy día te encuentras en la chamba, en la clase, o irás al mercado. Tu tal vez piensas que estas allí por motivos de trabajo, estudios o compras. ¿Es posible que Dios te esta mandando como mensajero? Queremos estar atentos a lo que Dios tiene planeado para nosotros. ¿Quién sabe lo que Dios querrá hacer contigo hoy? Deja a Dios usarte. ¡No hay nada mejor en el mundo!

These last few weeks we’ve been talking about Joshua chapter 2 in the church. It’s about the two spies that were sent by Joshua. These two men thought that they were going to find out about the weaknesses of the enemy, his strengths and to study the terrain in general. They didn’t know that God had a different plan. They were really sent because God wanted to save a prostitute. God’s plan was great because the two spies were used by God but the prostitute encouraged them regarding their God and the victory that awaited them. Rahab, the prostitute became a part of God’s people and an ancestor of King David and Jesus Christ. When the New Testament mentions the two spies it speaks of them as messengers. It speaks of Rahab as a hero of the faith.
Maybe you’re at work today or maybe you’ll be in a class or at the market. Maybe you think that God is sending you because you have to work, study, shop, etc. Is it possible that God is sending you as a messenger? We want to pay attention to what God has planned for us today. Let God use you. There’s nothing better in the world!

Porque yo sé muy bien los planes que tengo para ustedes afirma el Señor,
Las últimas semanas hemos hablado de Josué capítulo 2 en la iglesia. Habla de los 2 espías enviados por Josué. Estos dos pensaban que tenían que conocer las debilidades del enemigo, sus fortalezas y el terreno en general. No sabían que Dios tenía otro propósito. Realmente fueron enviados porque Dios quería salvar a una prostituta. El plan de Dios fue maravilloso porque los dos espías fueron usados por Dios pero la prostituta les animó en cuanto a Dios y la victoria que les esperaba. La prostituta Rajab llegó a ser parte del pueblo de Dios y antepasado del rey David y Jesucristo. El Nuevo Testamento habla de los 2 espías pero no los llama espías sino mensajeros. Habla de Rajab la prostituta como una heroína de la fe.
Tal vez hoy día te encuentras en la chamba, en la clase, o irás al mercado. Tu tal vez piensas que estas allí por motivos de trabajo, estudios o compras. ¿Es posible que Dios te esta mandando como mensajero? Queremos estar atentos a lo que Dios tiene planeado para nosotros. ¿Quién sabe lo que Dios querrá hacer contigo hoy? Deja a Dios usarte. ¡No hay nada mejor en el mundo!

These last few weeks we’ve been talking about Joshua chapter 2 in the church. It’s about the two spies that were sent by Joshua. These two men thought that they were going to find out about the weaknesses of the enemy, his strengths and to study the terrain in general. They didn’t know that God had a different plan. They were really sent because God wanted to save a prostitute. God’s plan was great because the two spies were used by God but the prostitute encouraged them regarding their God and the victory that awaited them. Rahab, the prostitute became a part of God’s people and an ancestor of King David and Jesus Christ. When the New Testament mentions the two spies it speaks of them as messengers. It speaks of Rahab as a hero of the faith.
Maybe you’re at work today or maybe you’ll be in a class or at the market. Gracias Thanks
Gracias a los que oraron por el alcance en Puente Piedra el viernes. Fuimos al barrio de San José con un grupo de 23 personas más o menos. El Señor realmente se manifestó. En mi caso, fui bendecido cuando pudimos ministrar a una mujer que se llama Lily. Es una madre con 3 hijos. El último tiene solo 5 meses. Cuando nació su bebe, el esposo la dejó. Ha ido a una iglesia cristiana una vez pero no pudo regresar porque queda muy lejos. No sabia que teníamos una iglesia solo unas cuadras mas allá de su casa. Cuando le pregunté si había entregado su vida a Cristo me dijo, “No, pero quisiera.” Nos quedamos ministrando a ella por un tiempo explicando el plan de la salvación. Luego invitó a una amiga acompañarla a la reunión que hicimos en el parque. Después de ir a la reunión en el parque fuimos a orar por un hombre que se llama Edgar. Tiene 30 anos y está muy mal con cáncer en la espalda. Orando por el, me sentí tan triste y tan agradecido a la vez, triste por su sufrimiento y agradecido por la salud que Dios me ha dado. Señor, gracias por hacerme ver lo precioso y a la vez cuán frágil es nuestra vida.
El sábado pasamos un tiempo bonito en Villa Maria aunque hacia mucho frío. Tuve una conversación muy bonita con tres niños. Cada uno tiene 9 anos. Uno nunca había ido a la reunión para los niños. Era bien bonito escuchar a los otros dos explicándole que hacemos los sábados en el parque. Dijeron que les encantan los títeres. Mientras que hablaban llegó la hermana de uno y le dijo que tenía que ir a casa con ella. El dijo que quería quedarse porque no quería perder todo. Se quedó y disfrutó de todo. El domingo nos visitaron en la iglesia de Surco.
Thanks to those of you that prayed for our outreach in Puente Piedra on Friday. We went to a neighborhood called San Jose with a group of about 23 people. The Lord really manifested himself. In my case, I was blessed when we were able to minister to a woman named Lily. She is a mother of three. Her youngest is only 5 months old. When her youngest was born her husband left her. She has been to a Christian church once but hasn’t been able to attend there because it’s too far. She didn’t know that we had a church only a few blocks from her home. When I asked her if she had given her life to the Lord she told me, “No, but I would like to.” We stayed there ministering to her for some time and explained God’s plan of salvation. Afterward, she invited a friend to accompany her to the meeting that we had in the park. After the meeting in the park we went to pray for a man named Edgar. He’s 30 years old and is suffering terribly from cancer of the spine. When I was praying for him I felt so sad and so thankful at the same time. I was sad seeing his suffering and thankful for the good health the Lord has given me. Lord, thanks for letting me see how precious and fragile our life really is.
We had a great time on Saturday in Villa Maria even though it was really cold. I had a conversation with three boys. There are all 9 years old. One of them had never been to one of our children’s meetings in the park before. The other two were explaining what we do to him. While they were talking one of the boy’s older sisters came to tell him to go home. He told her that he didn’t want to leave because he didn’t want to miss anything. He stayed and enjoyed every minute of the program. On Sunday they visited us at the church here in Surco.

La Lluvia Tardía The Latter Rain

Hemos visto las lluvias tempranas. La semilla ha brotado en nuestro corazón y en la iglesia. Sabemos que Jesús ha resucitado de entre los muertos y ha ascendido al cielo. En Pentecostés las lluvias tempranas produjeron un crecimiento enorme. En nuestras vidas hemos visto el Señor comenzar una obra en nuestros corazones y ministerios. La iglesia sigue creciendo pero tenemos que pasar largos días bajo el calor del sol. ¡Como anhelamos la lluvia tardía! Anhelamos el fruto precioso producido en nosotros y en Su iglesia Hasta aquel día mantenemos la paciencia y la esperanza producida por la fe en nuestro amado Señor

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.[1]
We’ve seen the early rains. The seed has sprouted in our hearts and in the church. We know that Jesus has risen from the dead and has ascended to heaven. In Pentecost the early rains produced an enormous growth. We’ve seen the Lord begin a work in our hearts and ministries as well. The church continues to grow but we have to go through long days below the heat of the sun. How we desire the latter rains! We long for the precious fruit to be produced in us and in the church. Until that day we stay patient we have the hope produced by faith in our loved Lord.

Vamos a ministrar en Puente Piedra esta tarde con los de Surco, Miami Beach y Brasil. Dios mediante estaremos ministrando en un barrio diferente porque queremos alcanzar a más gente con el evangelio de Cristo. Oren por nosotros. Vamos a salir a las 2 de la tarde más o menos.

Cuando escuchan la sentencia de muerte, recíbanlo como la invitación del Rey de la Gloria, quien les ha invitado a la fiesta de boda.
Las instrucciones eran difíciles pero claras. Los autores franceses Franz Ravennas y Martín Guillabert escribieron un manual para los cristianos enfrentando la amenaza de la muerte. Su “oficina editorial” fue la celda de la cárcel durante la revolución francesa. Opinaban que su celda era la cámara ante- paraíso.
“Cuando han terminado de leer la sentencia,” continua el manual, “Digan Uds., con los muchos mártires quienes han ido adelante, “Gracias Dios.” Canten canciones gozosas. Cuando les aten las manos, repitan las palabras de San Pablo: “Por el nombre del Señor Jesús estoy dispuesto no sólo a ser atado sino también a morir”.
En camino a ser disparados, hablen con los guardias de las escrituras acerca de la delicia que es el sufrimiento y la muerte por Cristo. ¿Quién nos apartará del amor de Cristo? (Romanos 8:35)

Todos los días debemos vivir con un aviso: ¡Tengamos cuidado! En cualquier momento tragedia es una posibilidad. Si estamos en un vehículo, cruzando la calle o simplemente cumpliendo con nuestros deberes cotidianos, no tenemos la certeza que no pasará un accidente, una enfermedad o un acto de violencia al propósito. Aunque no podemos vivir protegidos de este mundo malo, podemos vivir con la promesa que Dios nos da. Nada, absolutamente nada puede separarnos del amor que tenemos en Jesús. “When they have finished reading your sentence,” the manual continues, “you will say with many martyrs who have gone before you, ‘Thank God.’ Sing joyful songs. When they bind your hands, say the words of St. Paul: ‘I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die for the name of Jesus Christ.’
“On the way to being shot, speak to the guards from Scripture about the delight of suffering and dying for Christ. ‘Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?’ (Romans 8:35)
“When you encounter the executioner, remember the words of the great martyr Ignatius: ‘When will the happy moment come when I will be slaughtered for my Savior? How long must I wait?’ Remember to also say a prayer for the persecutors.”

Their words are too much to imagine for most Christians in free nations, but they are followed, even today, in restricted nations.Every day we live should come with a warning: Watch out! At any given moment, tragedy is a distinct possibility. Whether we are riding in a vehicle, crossing a street, or just going about our daily work, we are not safe from an accident, a disease, or a purposeful act of violence. While we can’t live protected from the evils of this world, we can live with the promise that God gives us: Nothing, absolutely nothing, can cut us off from the love we have in Jesus. Although you may never die for your faith, you may face rejection and other painful persecutions. God’s love will instruct you and help you face all that comes your way today.

Envying and strife are opposed to the meekness of wisdom. The heart is the seat of both; but envy and wisdom cannot dwell together in the same heart. Holy zeal and bitter envying are as different as the flames of seraphim and the fire of hell. 2. The order of things here laid down. Envying is first and excites strife; strife endeavors to excuse itself by vain-glorying and lying; and then (v. 16) hereupon ensue confusion and every evil work. Those who live in malice, envy, and contention, live in confusion, and are liable to be provoked and hurried to any evil work. Such disorders raise many temptations, strengthen temptations, and involve men in a great deal of guilt. One sin begets another, and it cannot be imagined how much mischief is produced: there is every evil work.[2]

El Fin de Semana The Weekend
Pasamos un fin de semana muy bonito. El sábado fuimos a Villa Maria como siempre. Esta vez fuimos un poco más temprano para invitar a la gente al parque. El grupo de Miami Beach hizo el programa para los niños. Hicieron un show de títeres muy bonito, enseñaron la Biblia y canciones para los niños y compartieron unos testimonios. El grupo de Jucum de Brasil hizo mas o menos ocho mimos, tocaron música y compartieron testimonios y la palabra de Dios. Un grupo de jóvenes de Gracia Calvary Chapel aquí en Lima hicieron un mimo también. Los de Koinonia Surco tocaron música, tradujeron y predicaron la palabra.
El día domingo hicimos una reunión especial en Surco para dedicar el edificio al Señor. Los títeres fueron muy graciosos y edificantes a la vez. Vinieron personas que no hemos visto hace tiempo y fue bonito también. Un grupo de peruanos de estadounidenses fue a ministrar en Puente Piedra en la tarde. Gracias Señor por tantas bendiciones en unos cuantos días no más. Tú eres tan bueno.
We had a nice weekend. On Saturday we went to Villa Maria as always. We went a little earlier than normal so that we could invite people to the park. The group from Miami Beach did the children’s program. They did a puppet show that was really nice, they taught the Bible, they sang some songs with the children and shared some testimonies too. The YWAM group from Brazil did seven or eight mimes, played music and shared testimonies and the word of God too. A group of young people from Gracia Calvary Chapel here in Lima did a mime too. The people from Surco played music, translated and preached the word.
On Sunday we had a special meeting to dedicate the building to the Lord. The puppet show was so funny and edifying at the same time. A number of people came that we hadn’t seen for a long time and so it was good to see them. A group of Peruvians and North Americans went to Puente Piedra in the afternoon and had a good time ministering there. Thanks Lord for so many blessings in only a few days. You’re so good.

Good Intentions Buenas Intenciones
Zeb Mengistu was talking about the time that Davids’ father sent him to his brothers while they were confronting the phillistines. David was delivering provisions when he heard the voice of Goliath mocking God and His people. He wanted to take a step of faith and defeat Goliath in the name of the Lord. Davids’ brothers weren’t impressed with their little brother. They mocked and insulted him. They accused him of wrong intentions. You can read more about it in 1 Samuel 17.Zeb Mengistu was talking about this passage. He said, “David had good intentions, but they were misinterpreted. People will not celebrate or accept your intentions. You will waste your time fighting to prove your intentions. But where intentions are not celebrated, fruit is. The very ones who reject your intentions will rejoice over your fruit. In fact, by fighting to justify your intentions you compromise your fruit. We must learn to let our fruit fight for us. Scripture says that wisdom is proved right by her children. Wisdom does not fight for herself, her children do. Instead of fighting for man's approval, we must fight for God's approval because, "if God is for us, who can be against us?"

David estaba entregando las provisiones enviadas por su papá cuando escuchó la voz de Goliat burlándose de Dios e insultando a los Israelitas. David quería tomar un paso de fe y derrotar a Goliat en el nombre del Señor. Los hermanos de David no estaban muy impresionados con su pequeño hermano. Se burlaron de él y le insultaron. Le acusaron de tener un motivo equivocado en estar allí. Puedess leer más acerca de la historia en 1 Samuel 17.

Es una perdida de tiempo discutir con otros para probar tus intenciones. Aunque la gente no celebra las buenas intenciones, el fruto, si. Las mismas personas que rechazan las buenas intenciones se regocijarán sobre el fruto. De hecho, luchar para justificar tus buenas intenciones podría perjudicar el fruto. Tenemos que aprender a dejar que el fruto luche por nosotros. Las escrituras dicen, “la sabiduría es justificada por sus hijos.” La sabiduría no lucha por si misma. Sus hijos luchan por ella. En ves de luchar por la aprobación del hombre debemos luchar por la aprobación de Dios, porque, “Si Dios es por nosotros, ¿Quién contra nosotros?”

Dedicando el Edificio Dedicating the Building
El domingo será un día especial porque estaremos dedicando el edificio en Surco al Señor. Dios ha sido tan bueno y queremos agradecerle por la bendición que tenemos en el edificio y mas que todo en los ministerios que se realizarán en él. La reunión comenzará a las 10 en punto. Después vamos a comer sanguchitos y tomar un refresco juntos.
Por se acaso, no hay escuela de discipulado mañana porque Pastor Robert no ha podido venir de Miami.
Sunday will be a special day because we will be dedicating the new building in Surco to the Lord. God has been so good and we want to thank Him for the blessing that we have in the building and above all for the ministerios that will take place here. The meeting will start at 10:00a.m. sharp. Afterward we will have some sandwiches and something to drink for everyone.
By the way, there will be no discipleship school class tomorrow because Pastor Robert couldn´t come from Miami.
Por se acaso, no hay escuela de discipulado mañana porque Pastor Robert no ha podido venir de Miami.
