Como hijos obedientes no os conforméis a los deseos que antes teníais estando en vuestra ignorancia.
Para mi es interesante el ver que Dios nunca nos llama adultos. Siempre nos llama sus hijos.
Al ver a mis hijos, me doy cuenta que ellos siempre hacen lo que ven a otros hacer, se comportan así como ven a otros comportarse y hablan según escuchan a otros hablar. La gente me dice que Marco camina igual que yo.
Como Hijos de Dios debemos de obedecerle de la misma manera que yo espero que mis hijos me obedezcan. Así como mis hijos copian y hacen lo que me ven hacer, nosotros, como cristianos, también debemos de imitar al Señor Jesús, conforme el ejemplo que nos da en la Biblia sobre su andar y hacer; y no me refiero a que debemos hacer todo exactamente como el lo hizo, por ejemplo, si alguna vez viajas a Jerusalén, que no se te ocurra pensar que Dios quiere que entres montado en un burro como Jesús, a lo que me refiero, es que debemos de imitarlo en la obediencia. Nosotros no queremos ser como la gente que no conoce a Jesús y esta entregada a satisfacer sus propias pasiones lujuriosas. Nosotros vivimos vidas de autocontrol sometidas en obediencia a nuestro Padre Celestial.
Como cristianos muchas veces preferimos hacer sacrificios antes que obedecer. Si Dios nos habla de hacer algo en un momento especifico, preferimos hacer otra cosa y le decimos a Dios que lo que el nos indico lo vamos a hacer si, pero mas tarde, y lo que en realidad estamos haciendo es decirle a Dios que, nosotros sabemos mejor que El lo que corresponde y lo que tenemos para ofrecerle para ese momento es mejor sin, en realidad, darnos cuenta que ese algo esta fuera de su voluntad. El Señor desea que seamos hijos obedientes y no adultos con sus propias opiniones. Recuerda que el Señor es omnisciente, el sabe lo que es mejor para ti y tiene un tiempo perfecto para todo. Obedécelo con gozo así en las pequeñas como en las grandes cosas. Ponlo a El primero en cada área de tu vida.
1 Peter 1:14
14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;[1]
Commentary
It’s interesting to me that God never calls us adults. We are always children. As I watch my children I see that they are always copying what they see others do. They conform themselves to what they see happening around them. They talk like others; people tell me that my son Marco walks just like I do. As children of God we must obey Him in the same way that I expect my children to obey me. As my children copy what I do we must copy or mimic what we see the Lord Jesus Christ doing in the Bible. I don’t mean that we will do everything in the same way He did. If you ever take a trip to Jerusalem I don’t think that God wants you to enter the city riding a burro. We copy the obedience that we see in Jesus. We don’t try to be like the people of the world that are given over to their own lusts. We live lives of self control and obedience to our Father.
Application
Many times as Christians we choose to sacrifice rather than obey. God tells us to do something at a specific time but we would rather do something else and so we tell God that we will make up for it later. At that moment what we are really saying is that we know better than God and that we actually have something to offer Him outside of His will. The Lord desires us to be obedient children, not adults that have our own opinions. Remember today that the Lord is omniscient. He knows what is best for you and has His perfect time for everything. Obey Him joyfully in the little things and in the big things as well. Put Him first in every area of your life.

It was great to be back in Villa Maria this weekend. I love seeing new people listening to the word of God being taught. I love seeing the people from Koinonia fellowship sharing their faith in little groups in the audience. I love seeing the church outside of the 4 walls.
Sunday was a great time at church in Surco. We had a cookout after church complete with birthday cake. It was the pastors’ birthday. We worshipped together; we shared the word of God together and then ate together. There was great Koinonia. It doesn’t get any better.
Maybe it does get better… the group that went to Puente Piedra to minister returned and we had more Koinonia. They shared with me how the adults were really worshipping God and told me that four new adolescents showed up. A few of the team members went out inviting people to the meeting. They were received by some and rejected by others. It was great being together eating some crackers and sharing a bottle of Guaraná soda. Guaraná is a soda made from a South American berry.
Que bueno fue regresar a Villa Maria en el fin de semana. Me encanta ver a la gente escuchando la palabra de Dios enseñada. Me encanta ver a la gente de Koinonia compartir su fe in grupos pequeños en la audiencia. Me encanta ver la iglesia fuera de las 4 paredes.
El domingo pasamos un tiempo muy bonito en la iglesia de Surco. Hicimos una parrillada después con una torta de cumpleaños. Fue el cumpleaños del pastor. Alabamos juntos, compartimos la palabra de Dios y comimos juntos. Había Koinonia. No puede ser mejor.
Tal vez, si puede ser mejor… el grupo que fue a Puente Piedra a ministrar regresó u tuvimos más Koinonia. Compartieron los chicos como los adultos estaban alabando a Dios con ganas y como llegaron 4 adolescentes nuevos. Unos del equipo del ministerio salieron a invitar a la gente a la reunión. Fueron bien recibidos por algunos y rechazados por otros. Pasamos un tiempo lindo compartiendo galletas y una botella de Guaraná. Guaraná es una gaseosa de Sur América hecha de una fruta parecida a una cereza.

Ceñid los lomos Gird up the loins
1Pedro 1:13
Por tanto ceñid los lomos de vuestro entendimiento, sed sobrios, y esperad por completo en la gracia que se os traerá cuando Jesucristo sea manifestado.
Ceñirse los lomos significa estar listos para la carrera o para trabajar. Pablo nos anima a correr la buena carrera. Estamos llamados a guardar nuestra salvación con temor y temblor. Debemos disciplinarnos en nuestra forma de vivir como cristianos. El enemigo siempre esta listo a tomar ventaja de nosotros. Por otro lado, el cristiano que ha ceñido los lomos de su entendimiento, no se perderá la bendición que proviene del Señor; no escuchará el consejo del débil, sino que escuchara al consejo de Dios. Ansiosamente esperara experimentar las oportunidades de disfrutar de la presencia del Señor y de caminar con El.
Aplicación
No hay nada que pudiera sucederte que sorprenda al Señor. El sabe tu futuro. El ya esta allí. Empieza el día agradeciendo al Señor, sabiendo que en todo momento el estará contigo. Fija tus ojos en Jesús, que es el autor y consumador de tu fe. El nunca de dejara ni olvidara. Mas grande es el que esta en ti que el que esta en el mundo.

To gird up the loins means to prepare to run or work. We are called by Paul to run the good race. We are called to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. We must be disciplined in our thought life as Christians. The enemy is always ready to take advantage of us. On the other hand the Christian that has the loins of his mind girded up will not miss the blessing of receiving from the Lord. He will not listen to the counsel of the wicked, instead he will listen the godly counsel. He will eagerly anticipate opportunities that await him to experience the presence of his Lord and to walk with him.
Application.
Instead of wasting time today help me to meditate on your word more Lord. I need to get an early start on memorizing my verses and meditating on them. Speak to me throughout the day. I ask you to help me keep my mind stayed on you.

Los profetas The prophets
1Pedro 1:10-12
Los profetas que profetizaron de la gracia destinada a vosotros, inquirieron diligentemente indagaron acerca de esta salvación, escudriñando que persona y que tiempo indicaba el Espíritu de Cristo que estaba en ellos, el cual anunciaba de antemano los sufrimientos de Cristo y las glorias que vendrán tras ellos. A estos se les reveló que no para si mismos sino para nosotros, administraban las cosas que ahora os son anunciadas por los que os han predicado el evangelio por el Espíritu Santo enviado del cielo; cosas en las cuales anhelan mirar los ángeles.
A veces tenemos la tendencia de pensar que los profetas escucharon la voz del Señor y la proclamaron fácil y sencillamente, como por un arte de magia. El apóstol Pedro en esta porción nos deja ver algo distinto. Los profetas ciertamente tenían un don del Señor; pero, la razón por la cual ellos profetizaban tenia más que ver con el hecho de que diligentemente indagaban en las escrituras. Ellos eran hombres con hambre del Señor y de su plan de salvación para nosotros y el mundo en el cual vivimos. Preguntándose e indagando diligentemente es como recibieron la revelación. Les fue revelado que lo mostrado por Dios no tendría su mayor efecto en el tiempo del periodo de sus vidas. Estas serian para otra generación y que hasta los ángeles estaban a la expectativa de ver que estas cosas ocurrieran.
Aplicación
Señor, ayúdame a buscarte. Y mientras te busco y estudio cuidadosamente tu palabra, te pido nos des revelación a nosotros, tu pueblo. Talvez tu quisieras elegirme para esta generación o, talvez tu quieras que las generaciones venideras sean mas beneficiadas que esta. Ayúdame Señor a no desalentarme y a confiar y seguirte solo a ti.

Sometimes we have the tendency to think that the prophets heard the word of the Lord and proclaimed it without having to do any work. It was almost as if it were magic it would seem. Peter seems to give us a different idea here. The prophets certainly had a gift from the Lord but the reason they were able to prophesy had to do with the fact that they inquired and searched diligently. They were men that had a hunger for the Lord and His plan regarding our salvation and the world in which we live. As they inquired and searched carefully they received the revelation. The revelation revealed that it would not be in their time period that their ministry would be most effective. It would be for another generation. Even the angels longed to look into the things revealed to the prophets.
Application.
Lord, help me to seek you. As I seek you and study your word carefully your revelation for your people will come. Maybe you will choose to use me for this generation. Maybe the generations to come will be those that will benefit more than the present one. Help me not to be discouraged but to trust you and seek you.

Being a disciple Siendo un discípulo
Matthew 10:25
“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25“It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master[1]
Matthew 11:29
29“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls[2]
Being a disciple of Jesus doesn’t mean learning everything that our master knows. That will never happen. Jesus, being God will always know more than us. Being a disciple of Jesus is learning to be like Him.
Mateo 10:25
“Bástale al discípulo ser como su maestro, y al siervo como su señor.”
Mateo 11:29
“Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas;(L)”
Siendo discípulos de Jesús no significa aprender todo lo que sabe nuestro maestro. Nunca va a pasar. Jesús, siendo Dios siempre sabe más que nosotros. Siendo un discípulo de Jesús es aprender a ser como él.

thousands upon thousands miles y miles
Although there are thousands upon thousands of them in Peru, these two really caught my attention. I had been enjoying the beautiful light of a South American sunset when I observed them in the middle of the busy pan American highway. They were between 5-7 years old. I could tell by their rosy cheeks that they were from the mountains. We were returning from the Wednesday ministry in Puente Piedra and we were stopped at a red light. They were two little brothers selling cigarettes along the busy and polluted pan American highway. The driver of the car in front of us bought a cigarette from the younger brother. The little boy ran to his sibling with a big smile on his face. He was happy to have made about 10 céntimos… the equivalent of a little less than three cents U.S. Those two boys live a tough life. So many children in South America need the love of Christ and the care of a steady family.
Seeing the beautiful sunset I was thankful that God is still in control and doing beautiful things in our world but I couldn’t help but thinking and praying, Lord, help us to do more.” Raise up disciples, send more missionaries and most of all give us your grace and strength.
Aunque hay miles y miles de esos en El Perú, estos dos realmente captaron mi atención. Estuve disfrutando de la maravillosa caída del sol en América del Sur cuando los observé en medio de una congestionada y contaminada panamericana. Ellos tenían entre 5-7 años. Me di cuenta por sus chaposas mejias que eran de la sierra. Estábamos regresando del ministerio de media semana en Puente Piedra y paré en la luz roja. Ellos eran 2 hermanitos vendiendo cigarros en una alborotada ruta. El chofer a mi frente le compró un cigarro al hermanito pequeño. El hermanito pequeño corrió a su hermano con una grande sonrisa en su cara. El estaba contento de haber ganado 10 céntimos (el equivalente a un poquito menos de 3 céntimos americanos. Estos dos niños llevan una vida dura. Muchos niños de Sur América necesitan el amor de Cristo y el cuidado de una familia estable.
Viendo la hermosura de la caída del sol yo estaba tan agradecido de que Dios todavía tiene control y que continua haciendo cosas hermosas en este mundo pero, no pude evitar de pensar y orar, Señor ayúdanos hacer mas. Levanta discípulos, envía más misioneros pero lo más importante, danos tu gracia y tu fortaleza.

Estamos trabajando bastante pero vale la pena. En la mañana tenemos EBV en San Vicente y tenemos un aproximado de 50 niños. Por la tarde vamos a Playa Hermosa y allí están viniendo como 35 niños. A veces me siento mal porque me estoy divirtiendo más que los niños. La lección para compartir es la Armadura de Dios y aunque sé que en un mes los niños no van a recordar mucho de la teoría, si recordarán con cariño los momentos de Koinonia que hemos tenido, y eso es muy importante. Esta experiencia nos está a ayudando no sólo a enseñarles a los niños a cómo protegerse con la armadura de Dios, sino a amarlos y a enseñarles que el cristianismo es algo muy divertido también.

We’re working hard but it’s worth it. We do Vacation Bible School in San Vicente in the mornings and there are approximately 50 children. In the afternoon we go to Playa Hermosa and teach approximately 35 children. Sometimes I feel bad because I have so much fun with the children. The lesson has been on the armor of God. I know that in a few months the children will have forgotten a lot of the theory. My hope is that they will have good memories about the Koinonia (fellowship) that we’ve had. That is so important. This time together has been good not only for teaching the children about the armor of God and the protection that it gives, it has also helped us learn to love them and teach them that Christianity can be a lot of fun.

Estamos trabajando bastante pero vale la pena. En la mañana tenemos EBV en San Vicente y tenemos un aproximado de 50 niños. Por la tarde vamos a Playa Hermosa y allí están viniendo como 35 niños. A veces me siento mal porque me estoy divirtiendo más que los niños. La lección para compartir es la Armadura de Dios y aunque sé que en un mes los niños no van a recordar mucho de la teoría, si recordarán con cariño los momentos de Koinonia que hemos tenido, y eso es muy importante. Esta experiencia nos está a ayudando no sólo a enseñarles a los niños a cómo protegerse con la armadura de Dios, sino a amarlos y a enseñarles que el cristianismo es algo muy divertido también.

We’re working hard but it’s worth it. We do Vacation Bible School in San Vicente in the mornings and there are approximately 50 children. In the afternoon we go to Playa Hermosa and teach approximately 35 children. Sometimes I feel bad because I have so much fun with the children. The lesson has been on the armor of God. I know that in a few months the children will have forgotten a lot of the theory. My hope is that they will have good memories about the Koinonia (fellowship) that we’ve had. That is so important. This time together has been good not only for teaching the children about the armor of God and the protection that it gives, it has also helped us learn to love them and teach them that Christianity can be a lot of fun.

LLeno del Espíritu Filled with the Spirit
Acts chapter 2 is well known. Jesus followers were praying together and the Holy Spirit was given. As a consequence to the baptism of the Holy Spirit the Christians were able to glorify God and preach the word with boldness. We pay less attention to Acts 4. In chapter 4 the Holy Spirit shook the place where the believers were gathered again. It’s great to experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit but sometimes we need another filling. We lack that power to minister, that joy in the Spirit that we once had. We get tired and sin starts to creep into our lives. The words that come out of our mouth are no longer edifying. They are cutting. I realized this morning as I was spending time with the Lord that the pressures of the ministry and a full teaching schedule were starting to weigh on me. I asked for a new filling.
Lord, thanks for filling me anew with your Spirit today.
Hechos 2 es muy conocido. Los seguidores de Jesús estaban orando juntos y el bautismo del Espíritu Santo fue dado. Como consecuencia del bautismo del Espíritu Santo los cristianos eran capaces de glorificar a Dios y predicar su palabra con denuedo. Normalmente prestamos menos atención a Hechos 4. En capítulo 4 el Espíritu Santo hizo temblar otra vez el lugar donde estaban. Es una experiencia linda recibir el bautismo del Espíritu Santo pero a veces necesitamos otra llanura. El poder a ministrar nos falta y el gozo que teníamos en el Espíritu se agota. Nos cansamos y el pecado entra sigilosamente a nuestra vida. Las palabras que salen de nuestras bocas ya no son edificantes sino cortantes. Reconocí esta mañana en mí tiempo con el Señor que las presiones del ministerio, la necesidad de enseñar tantas veces a la semana había llegado a ser un gran peso encima. Le pedí a Dios una nueva llenura.
Gracias Señor por llenarme de nuevo con tu Espíritu hoy dia.

It’s Monday already. It’s time to start another week. Let’s put the verse above in practice this week and see what God does in our hearts and around us. Let’s remember to give thanks first of all and then be call upon the Lord instead of looking to others first. When we have called on the Lord we’ll be able to make His deeds known among the people.

Ya llegó el lunes. Es tiempo de comenzar otra semana de trabajo. Que tal si ponemos el versículo citado arriba en la práctica esta semana para ver lo que Dios puede hacer in nuestros corazones y en nuestro alrededor. Primero queremos dar gracias y luego clamar a Dios en vez de esperar en los demás. Cuando hemos clamado a Dios podremos hacen conocido en el mundo las obras de Dios en medio de su pueblo.

Prayer Requests Peticiones de Oración
Today I’ve decided to mention a few prayer requests that we have as a church.
1. Some of you know that we’re trying to purchase a building for the church. The good news is that the building that we want to buy has come down $30,000.00 in price. The owner is now asking $150,000.00. The other side is that we have to come up with at least $75,000.00 down payment. At the present time we have around $45,000.00. The building would serve as a church building and living quarters for missionaries. In the future we would also house students from other countries that would attend our discipleship school for preparing missionaries for the field.
2. This week a group from Calvary Chapel San Diego is doing Vacation Bible School with Pastor Jaime in San Vicente and Playa Hermosa Cañete. Pray for them.
3. Pray for the 13 students that are in our present discipleship school. They are really studying and ministering a lot.
Hoy día he decidido mencionar algunas peticiones que tenemos como iglesia.
Algunos de ustedes saben que queremos comprar un local para la iglesia. Las buenas noticias es que ha bajado el precio $30,000.00. El dueño está pidiendo ahora $150,000.00 El otro lado es que tenemos que juntar por lo menos $75,000.00 como inicial. En esto momento tenemos cerca de $45,000.00. El edificio nos serviría para la iglesia y también para misioneros. En el futuro para estudiantes de otros países que quieran participar en nuestra escuela de discipulado. Para prepararse como misioneros para el campo.
Esta semana un grupo de Calvary Chapel San Diego está haciendo La Escuela Bíblica de Verano con Pastor Jaime en San Vicente y Playa Hermosa Cañete. Oren por ellos.
Oren por los 13 estudiantes que están estudiando en nuestra escuela de discipulado. Están estudiando mucho y ministrando mucho también.

2 Timothy 2:1 2 Timoteo 2:1
2 Timothy 2:1You therefore, my son…
I was body boarding yesterday, or maybe I better say, trying to body board. There I was out in the ocean near a group of young surfers when a guy arrived. He said, “hola, ¿que tal” “Hi, how’s it going?” and then continued on out a little farther to converse with the young guys. He was at least in his mid 50´s and closer to sixty. I noticed that as soon as he got to the young guys they not only received him into the group, he became the leader. He was the life of the party. He was encouraging the young guys and when he caught a wave the young guys cheered him on, loving every minute. It was obvious that there was a dynamic there. These young kids really looked up to the old guy and the old guy loved the energy and enthusiasm of the teenagers.
Biblically speaking we see that the older men in the faith are to be involved in the lives of the young men. Older men in the faith and in age have so much to give to the younger guys. The young guys have so much to offer us old guys. We can accomplish so much working together. Paul saw it this way. He was always looking for young men like Timothy and Titus to work with him. There was no generation gap as far as Paul was concerned. He calls Timothy his son. Timothy respected Paul and listened to his counsel. Paul never dreamed of starting a youth group but he did reach out to the youth whenever he had a chance. Paul saw that the gospel could unite the generations rather than continue to separate them.
If you’re an older guy in age and in the faith, pray about spending time with some of the young guys in the church or in your neighborhood. Ask God to use you. You have a lot to offer. If you’re a young guy, be open to what the Lord might want to teach you through an older man in the church. Let God use you to encourage the older guy too.
2 Timoteo 2:1
“Tú, pues, hijo mío… “
Estaba corriendo tabla usando mi body board ayer, mejor dicho, intentando correr tabla. Allí estaba en el océano cerca de un grupo de jóvenes cuando llegó un hombre con su tabla. Hola, ¿Qué tal? Me dijo y luego continuó hacia el grupo de surfistas. Era un grupo de adolescentes pero él tenía por lo menos unos 50 años pero más probable 60. Vi que apenas que llegó a los adolescentes ellos no solo le recibieron sino llegó a ser el líder. El era él que tenía la chispa. El era él que animaba a los adolescentes y cuando él corria una ola los adolescentes le aplaudieron disfrutando cada segundo. Fue obvio que había algo dinámico en el ambiente. Los adolescentes respetaban al viejo. Al viejo, le encantaba la energía y el entusiasmo de los adolescentes.
Hablando bíblicamente, vemos que los hombres que ya tienen tiempo en la fe y en la vida deben estar involucrados en las vidas de los jóvenes. Los que tienen tiempo en la fe y mayor edad tiene mucho que compartir. Los jóvenes tienen mucho que compartir con los viejos. Podemos lograr mucho trabajando juntos. Pablo lo veía así. El siempre buscaba a jóvenes como Tito y Timoteo para que trabajaran con él. No existí un choque de generacion en la mente de Pablo. Pablo llama a Timoteo su hijo. Timoteo respetaba a Pablo y prestaba atención a sus consejos. A Pablo, nunca le ocurrió la idea de comenzar un grupo de jóvenes pero si, siempre alcanzaba a los jóvenes cuando se le presentaba lo oportunidad. Pablo entendía que el evangelio podía unir las generaciones en vez de separarlas.
Si eres un hombre ya maduro en la fe y en la vida, ora en cuanto a pasar tiempo con los jóvenes de la iglesia o del barrio. Pídale a Dios que te use. Tienes mucho que ofrecer. Si eres joven todavía, tienes que tener un corazón abierto a lo que el Señor podía enseñarte atravez de un hombre de la iglesia ya mas maduro. Deja a Dios usarte para animar a los hombres mayores también.

Elegidos según la presencia de Dios Padre en santificación del Espíritu, para obedecer y ser rociados con la sangre de Jesucristo: Gracia y paz os sean multiplicadas.
Comentario
Es grandioso saber que Dios nos escogió. Que maravillosos es el saber que el nos conoció desde antes de la formación del mundo. Es como un padre que desea tener un hijo mucho antes de concebirlo, así nuestro Padre nos escogió antes que hiciese al mundo. No solo nos escogió, sino que nos santifico en la santificación del Espíritu. Nosotros no tenemos nada que ver con nuestra salvación. Toda cosa buena viene de arriba, del Padre de las luces en quien no hay siquiera sombra de variación. Fuimos separados por el Espíritu Santo que es quien trabaja en nosotros para un ministerio específico. Y de la misma manera que comenzamos a caminar en obediencia es nuestro conocimiento de cuan gran necesidad que tenemos de la Sangre de Jesucristo para nuestras vidas. Es a través de su sangre que experimentamos el nuevo pacto. En el antiguo testamento la gente hacia sacrificios de animales y otras cosas a través del sacerdote para recibir el perdón de sus pecados. En el nuevo testamento ahora podemos entrar en su presencia en cualquier momento y poder encontrar gracia y ayuda en cualquiera que fuera nuestra necesidad.
Aplicación
Señor, ayúdame a recordar que tu tienes un propósito para mi vida. No entendería tú propósito si la vida me hubiese sido dada separada de ti. Me escogiste para que fuera separado o santificado, y, es atravez de la obediencia a tu Espíritu Santo que mi vida va a tomar este nuevo significado. Necesito tu perdón el día de hoy, gracias por derramar tu sangre en la Cruz por mi. Gracias porque el deseo de tu corazón es el darme de tu gracia y paz, gracias por que tu paz no depende de mis circunstancias, es una paz que el mundo no entiende. Tendré tu paz hoy mientras camine en obediencia, según tu plan, escuchando atentamente a tu Espíritu Santo. Te amo Señor.

Commentary
It’s great to know that God has chosen us. How wonderful to know that He knew us long before the world was made. As a parent desires to have children long before they are conceived so our Father chose us before the world. He has not only chosen us but has sanctified us in the sanctification of the Spirit. We have had nothing to do with our salvation. Every good thing is from above coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning. We are set apart for a specific ministry by the Spirit as He works in us. As we begin to walk in obedience we realize how much we need the blood of Jesus Christ. It is through his blood that we experience the new covenant. In the Old Testament the people had to sacrifice animals and other things through a priest so that they could receive forgiveness of sins. In the New Testament we can now enter into God’s presence at any moment. We are able to find grace to help in time of need. We need the Lord today. We want to obey Him but will need the Holy Spirit’s help. May grace and peace be multiplied to us today.
Application.
Lord, help me to remember that you have a purpose for my life. I will not understand your purpose for giving me life today apart from you. You have chosen me so that I might be separate or sanctified. It is through obeying your Holy Spirit today that my life will take on new meaning. I will need your forgiveness today. Thanks for shedding your blood on the cross for me. Thanks that your hearts desire is to give me your grace and your peace. Thanks that your peace is not dependent on my circumstances. It is a peace that the world cannot understand. I will have your peace today as I walk in obedience to your plan, listening attentively to your Holy Spirit. I love you Lord.
